This is a proper handmade fern. Sweet rosemary from the start, astringent and rough like a disinfectant, with a medicinal base that smells like a surgery room with wet plaster and penicillin. An Arab-style fougère.
@darkbeat I think the one you don’t like is that smell of bedbugs and zotal, which I also noticed.
The bottle is a real gem: metal with little red stones and oriental patterns, all very pretty, though the juice is different. It starts woody, spiced, balsamic and smoky, with a floral base that reminds me of Coca-Cola, and I don’t know why. I love this part, but it’s short-lived. Then come the resin, musk and amber. At first they’re subtle, but once the opening fades, I don’t like it; there are even moments I find unpleasant. I’m not sure if it’s a single note or the blend, but it just doesn’t convince me. Now it smells effervescent, raspy and dry, which is annoying. If the dry-down were a bit more resinous and sweet, it would be perfect, but it still doesn’t fully convince me, although I’ll keep testing it when it gets colder. The longevity is excellent, lasting over eight hours. The sillage is moderate, but correct for an attar. It’s for cold climates and night-time, of very good quality, but not entirely to my taste.
