Tel Quel by Yves Rocher: the scent that defined me forever. It was my fragrance from ’97 to ’02, a fixed part of my routine. Its longevity didn’t just accompany me; it earned me compliments, especially from women who would linger admiring that touch of masculine elegance. Even when riding my motorbike, the trail behind me smelled incredible to anyone following. The best part is that it suits everything, from casual to formal, with a natural sophistication. It clung to clothes for days, on jackets and scarves, as if they had absorbed it. I found it blind to support a friend’s catalogue listing, and it was the best surprise; it exceeded my expectations. It is timeless and unique; I haven’t found anything like it in shops or even in Arab perfumes. Unfortunately, it’s been discontinued, but if it returned unchanged, I would buy it without hesitation. It just needs to be back on the market. The green bottle with the amber cap was as iconic as the scent itself. In Mexico, the packaging was identical to the after-shaves of other countries, but with the lovely colours from here.
Projection and trail are beastly; it lasts for months on clothes, even through winter (exaggerately long-lasting). It smells very similar to Bentley for Men Intense, but not the same. I still have a bottle; I loved it so much I used two, and I say its trail and projection are superior to anything available today. It’s from the ’90s by Yves Rocher and is no longer available. Use it in cold weather and special occasions to turn heads. I HAVE MANY PERFUMES BUT I SAY TO YOU: I HAVE NOT TRIED ANYTHING MORE LONG-LASTING AND INTENSE THAN TEL QUEL. THE CLOSEST IN PERFORMANCE IS MEN, BUT IT NEVER LASTED 9 MONTHS ON A JACKET LIKE THIS ONE. Its scent is totally current. Tel Quel was a French magazine from the ’60s to the ’82, which is why the bottle looks like a folded magazine and the cap has the colour of the cover grid. And the glass is tea-green.
