  • Ahhh, why did you leave? You were a beast that needed taming. The first time I tried you, I didn’t like you, but I gave you another chance and you stole my heart. Why did you leave? Without a doubt, the best of the 80s.

  • I own it. Longevity is 7 to 8 hours with moderate projection. The opening is strong and smells very much like Azzaro Pour Homme but more woody, with a very sharp anise note. I have the 30ml vial. It’s not cheap (50 dollars) and is best reserved for winter use. I love it. A gentleman of secret intentions and audacity. A rarity to be preserved and enjoyed.

A masterpiece. It was the best of my youth. I treated it like a treasure from Luxor, knowing I would never find that special scent again.

  • DonCastóreo

It opens with a very light green herbal note. I’m not sure exactly what anise or marjoram smells like, but it reminds me of dried kitchen herbs like basil or oregano in a jar. There’s also green tea, chamomile, and yerba mate, all dehydrated. At first, it’s a bit of a chaotic, astringent mess, but over time, the anise and clove emerge, giving a spicy floral sweetness that contrasts beautifully with that country air. It has smoked oakmoss from the very beginning. It’s original, reminiscent of Azzaro but not quite the same. Despite being understated, it’s elegant and noble; it doesn’t need to shout to shine.

  • Back in 1992, I got lucky enough to try this jewel. It’s a super masculine fougère; I wore it twice and I’m still hunting for it in 2025, so it’s probably discontinued now. A work of art. If you’re determined to find it, try the Club Select range at O’Boticario, it’s very similar.
