Urban Oud by Habibi NY is a spicy aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by perfumer Julie Pluchet. Its top notes of cardamom, bergamot, mandarin, nutmeg, and pink pepper open with a vibrant spicy freshness. The heart reveals a seductive complexity where suede, saffron, carrot, rose, iris root, jasmine, Egyptian papyrus, and red wine interweave floral, herbal, and fruity nuances with a earthy depth. To finish, the base notes unfold a warm and persistent foundation formed by oud wood, gaiac wood, patchouli, light amber, cedar, vanilla, castoreum, Cistus Incanus, and vetiver.

This was the first niche fragrance I tried. At the time, I had a strong positive impression of it; I had never smelled anything of such high quality! I waited over a year to obtain it, and when I finally did, there was no doubt whatsoever. I love it and it is one of my favourites! I wear it at night with formal or casual attire; for me, it is not for sportswear or anything too informal. To my nose, this fragrance has a resemblance to Perri Ellis 360 Black, which I also own, but with the addition of oud and superior quality and longevity, it proves it is on another level. It will be part of my collection for a long time; it is intoxicating!
What a delight. That natural cardamomo combined with the woody base makes it an extremely elegant and sophisticated fragrance. It is unlikely to offend anyone. I would describe it as a Carved Oud with less wood, a touch of sweetness, and a hint of talc. I see it as suitable for men over 30, best worn with a shirt or at least nothing sporty. Truly a magnificent perfume. I was able to try it thanks to a sample from ScentXplore. I really hope I can get a bottle one day.
