This fragrance is incredible; it transports me straight to Greece, where in summer it smells of olive groves in Sparta and Chios. Vert des Bois, meaning ‘Green of the Forest’, marks a new step in fine herbaceous essences, blending olives, woods, resins, and flowers in a fresh way. At first, there are notes of poplar shoots and a hint of ouzo, that typical aniseed liqueur from the islands. Then it mingles with anise, sweet plums, rustic olive leaves, and pickled olives. A touch of jasmine makes it unisex. By the way, Vert des Bois has earned its place among Tom Ford’s finest creations, surpassing even what many expected from Ralph Lauren with his Green.
