About Vintage Vanilla Extrait de Parfum
Vintage Vanilla by Horace: A Polished Leather Vanilla
Vintage Vanilla Extrait de Parfum from Horace is a leather fragrance for women and men alike. Launched in 2026, it is the work of perfumer Caroline Dumur.
It opens with nutmeg and pink pepper, moves into saffron, coconut, violet and tobacco at its core, and rests on vanilla, leather, labdanum and isobutyl quinoline.
At first, spice takes the lead. Creamy nutmeg supplies warmth, while pink pepper lends a rosy sparkle that brightens the path towards the sweeter notes.
The middle phase is where the composition broadens. Coconut lends a rounded softness, tobacco introduces dryness, saffron hints at leather, and violet veils the blend with powder.
The foundation is dark and resinous. Vanilla deepens alongside labdanum, and the pairing of leather with isobutyl quinoline brings out smoky, animalic touches with a whisper of green.
The effect is vanillic and sweet, underpinned by leather, coconut, tobacco and amber. That drier, powdery framework stops the gourmand side from turning flat.
Conceived as an extrait, it favours a seamless, enveloping wear. Think of a mature vanilla cushioned in supple leather rather than a straightforward sweet scent.
It will appeal to those who prefer their vanilla shaded and textured, with leather, tobacco and coconut. Suited to lovers of mellow leathers and ambered warmth with a smoky, animalic edge.
Horace signs a coherent 2026 unisex piece here: shadowed vanilla, burnished leather and carefully dosed spice. Comforting on the skin, yet with enough bite to hold the interest.
