Virtue by Spirit Of Kings is an olfactive fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2022, the nose behind this composition is Christian Provenzano. The top notes are nutmeg, lavender, marigold (tagete, clavelón) and saffron; the heart notes include jasmine, white woods and cashmere musk; while the base notes reveal patchouli, vetiver, nagarmota (cipriol), oakmoss, myrrh, frankincense, amber and brown sugar.

I’ve tried two fragrances from this brand and they are identical, plus they are clones of Oud for Greatness and Haltane. It’s a rare case of a clone of a clone of a clone: Initio and Parfums de Marly are already clear inspirations with minimal changes, but since they belong to the same group, Spirit of Kings decides to clone both in the same collection. Applause. Why, when a house signs a clone with a famous perfumer, it’s called an inspiration, but when a house of equivalents does it without a known name, it’s a clone? PS: I’m going to clone myself and leave the same opinion on the other clone from this house, although this one resembles Haltane more… I’m against the current votes.
This is Virtue Ouf for Greatness at 98%. I say 98% because if Initio wasn’t loud enough, this one seems even more scandalous. The prices are almost identical. If you’re not deeply immersed in the world of fragrances, you won’t find absolutely any difference between the two. Personally, I adore Initio OFG, so naturally I like Virtue too. They are saffron-based fragrances with woody nuances and a subtle oud base. They evoke cleanliness and seriousness, with no sweetness whatsoever. If I had to compare them, Virtue becomes more “floral” upon drying, acquiring a slightly more feminine tone, if you will, whereas Initio maintains its serious woody character. I stick with Initio simply because I like to respect the creator and I’m not a fan of copies, clones, or inspirations.
