A relaxing and tranquil scent, worlds away from Mazzone’s extravagance. Vol d’Hirondelle smells of elegant mandarin, perhaps its peel, with woody notes that give it a velvety texture. As it develops, sweet spices add a cheerful touch. It’s a hybrid between citrus and aromatic, like a rejuvenated Terre d’Hermès for younger people. Perhaps it won’t surprise anyone, but it’s good for everyday wear. Longevity and sillage have improved a little; however, the lasting power is low (not a disaster, but only 4-5 hours, which feels short for me), and only those close by can smell it. I wear it most in summer heat, though I liked it better in cold spring when the spices were more noticeable.
