About Winternights
Winternights: Cold Greens Settling Into Amber
Scent Trunk’s Winternights, released in 2026, is offered for both men and women. The composition is credited to perfumer Michael Nordstrand.
It pairs herbaceous brightness with a darker, sweeter foundation. The top notes are grass, fennel and tobacco flower; the heart holds hay, barley (malt), hart’s-tongue fern and cypress; the base rests on cade oil, labdanum, honey and benzoin.
At first, the impression is distinctly verdant. Grass provides a chilled, leafy sharpness, fennel lends an aromatic, faintly anisic freshness, and tobacco flower introduces a gentle white floral veil.
The middle section feels harvested and dry. Hay alongside barley (malt) evokes straw and cereal warmth, hart’s-tongue fern sustains the green herbal character, whilst cypress contributes poised, aromatic timber.
Below that, the tone deepens. Cade oil supplies smouldering woods, labdanum offers rich amber resin, and honey with benzoin creates a mellow, balsamic sweetness.
The overall character balances green, aromatic and fresh facets against woody, amber, honeyed and softly spiced ones. The journey is from frost-touched foliage towards a sheltered, resin-lit warmth.
It will appeal to wearers who favour unisex herbal-green fragrances that turn ambery, with hay, malt, cypress, resin and honey to the fore.
Winternights presents winter as foliage, grain and forest, finally resting upon cade, labdanum, honey and benzoin.
