Wonderlust by Michael Kors is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2016, this composition was created by Aurélien Guichard, Honorine Blanc and Alexis Grugeon. I was very eager to try Wonderlust because from the almond milk note I thought it was a sweet gourmand-type perfume, but no, it’s formal, serious, not suitable for blind buying. It’s rich but not as I imagined. It has excellent longevity and projection; I have a 15ml decant and with that I am happy, I wouldn’t buy the bottle.
I bought it blindly; it’s rich, but if I had heard it, I wouldn’t have chosen it. It’s elegant, fine and formal. I consider it for people with sophisticated style. It doesn’t go with my style but it’s rich.
I met it in the freeshop when it was already too late to test it on any patch of skin, hahahaha, everything was occupied… But I took a surprise. With prejudice, I expected a sunscreen smell or something Shakira-style, nothing outside the known, something to conform… But it wasn’t like that. Luckily. I don’t recall the details but I do remember that I thought it was very neat, more ‘adult’ than what its colours suggested, with lots of style (just like when I first smelled Yellow Diamond, pure class in the bottle). It made me think of an English teacher I had in my adolescence, an old lady but always put-together, well upright, with her hair dyed up to date, brushed hair, done nails, and always perfumed… She looked snobbish but was so nice and good that that aspect passed right by. Anyway, I will surely look for it on a future trip. Months later: I was able to try it in a local perfumerie. It is much more tropical fruit than I remembered. It still has formality that separates it from sunscreen smells, but definitely it seems to me a summer perfume… like for an outdoor celebration, with a pool nearby.
I liked it as soon as I saw it, so I bought it blindly because the notes caught my attention. Upon receiving it, it was spectacular. I read comments saying it’s not serious, but I find it fun, with a beachy scent and very wearable. The drydown gives the impression of being strong, but after a few minutes it softens and dries down to feel very comfortable. You can detect the almond and floral touch; it’s muuuy delicious. The woody note is barely noticeable. Although it has that beachy touch, I don’t think it’s for summer; I feel the opening is like a perfume and the drydown another, so I’d wear it more in temperate climates than in full summer.
Since I saw it, I liked it, so I bought it just from seeing it like that; it was a blind buy (I liked the notes) and upon receiving it, it’s spectacular. I read the reviews and I don’t feel it’s serious; on the contrary, it’s fun, with a beach smell and super wearable. The opening gives the impression of being strong but softens after a few minutes and when it dries it feels very comfortable. You can feel the touch of almond and floral, very rich. The woody note is barely noticeable. Although it has a beachy touch (I don’t know why it’s associated with the beach), I don’t think it’s for summer; it seems to me, as they said, that the opening is one perfume and the dry-down another, so I would wear it more in mild weather than full summer.
I bought it blindly in an incredible promotion: a 100ml bottle and a beautiful bag I love using in the office; it didn’t seem like it came with perfume. If I had tried it, I wouldn’t have made a better purchase. It’s not my style; I aim for sweet fruity and gourmand scents, and this is mega floral, but an excellently crafted floral, like freshly picked flowers with the smell of the cut stem. It’s one of the most feminine I’ve owned, slightly sweet thanks to the flowers, and on me its performance is linear, it doesn’t transform much. It made me rethink my tastes and expand the collection: not everything has to smell like caramel. I agree it’s elegant, not necessarily serious, it depends on how you wear it, but it serves for the office or family. I used it to go out to the club and for romance, but I don’t prefer it for those occasions. I prefer it for daytime and it serves for any time of year. It has a moderate to high trail that is felt but not annoying. It may please anyone, but I would recommend it to girls or women who don’t tolerate sweet perfumes and need a special high-quality feminine fragrance for occasions. This is it.
I bought it blindly during an incredible promotion: it came with a 100ml bottle and a gorgeous, large handbag that I love using for the office; it seemed like it came without a perfume at all. If I had tried it first, I wouldn’t have made a better purchase. It’s not really my style—I usually look for sweet fruity and gourmand scents, and this is mega floral—but it’s an excellently executed floral, smelling of freshly cut flowers with the scent of the stem. It’s one of the most feminine scents I own, slightly sweet due to the flowers, and on me its performance is linear, not changing much. It made me reconsider my tastes and expand my collection: not everything has to smell like caramel. I agree it’s elegant, not necessarily serious; it depends on the look, but it suits special office or family occasions. I used it to go out to the club or for romantic things, but I don’t prefer it for that. I use it better during the day; it suits any time of year. It has a moderate to high trail that you can feel but isn’t annoying. Anyone might like it, but I recommend it to girls or women who don’t tolerate sweetness and need a special, high-quality feminine fragrance for occasions. This is it.
My husband brought me a collection of four Michael Kors miniatures from one of his trips. Of the two families, Sexy and Wonderlust, the original of the latter is undoubtedly the best. Rich formula and formal without being generic. Soft and elegant, it smells clean and fresh for hours, even in the scorching air of urban and Mediterranean summer; its freshness and distinction are a comforting personal oasis. Very good longevity and trail. I was pleasantly surprised as I didn’t know the brand and it didn’t ring a bell. I think I never would have come across it without this first introduction. Maybe it’s not a main favourite, but it will surely be liked always. It’s hard for it to be disliked, very wearable, neat and comfortable. Of the others in the collection, I have little to say. Wonderlust Sensual Essence is something else, usable but forgettable, I wouldn’t buy it. From the Sexy line, I’m tired of its eighties vulgarity (it reminded me of nineties catalogue perfumes). Both have short longevity. I like Sexy Amber more than Sexy Ruby, but I don’t think they’re worth the price.
I wear it on my arm and it smells stronger than all the others in my collection. It sits well on the skin with a heavy trail and flawless longevity. Ideal for people thirty and over; I don’t see it as youthful, but if someone likes it, they can wear it. It reminds me of Tommy Hilfiger’s Peach Blossom, or maybe it’s my nose, but the Peach isn’t as heavy and is softer; here the tonka bean is more pronounced with caramel. If they do resemble each other a little, it remains a very elegant and herbal sweet. I detect tonka bean or coffee mixed with the sweet notes, it’s rich. I also smell almost almond at the end, not as an opening. I like it, but I wouldn’t buy it, or if I did, I’d wait until later.
Very pleasant; the sweetness and elegance combine brilliantly. The woods are a bit rough but give naturalness to the flowers. Tremendous trail and undeniable presence, although I don’t associate it with winter, even though it feels warm.
I just bought it blindly, guided by the reviews. I got it at a good price with a free gift bag. Those who say it’s for a mature, serious woman are totally wrong. On my skin, the first thing I smell is Sambac jasmine, followed by pepper with almond milk, an exquisite combination. Despite being warm, it smells summery; it’s for daytime wear and quite soft. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long; after 3 hours I can hardly smell anything, so I have to reapply. But the scent is rich; I see it for a girl over 25, stylish and very feminine.
The first time I tried it, I was blown away; that almond milk opening is wow, followed by jasmine and woods in the base. It’s a very well-crafted scent. I see it as elegant and cheerful, ideal for dinner out in summer near the beach. On my skin, it lasts about 8 hours with a good trail. I’ve already repurchased it three times, but after the third time I stopped; for some reason, I started rejecting it a little and now I only use it for special occasions. It reminds me too much of Givenchy’s Amarige; in fact, I own both, and the similarity is undeniable when I apply them to each arm.
It is two perfumes in one: for the first 10 minutes of application, it is summery and fresh, and after those 10 minutes, it becomes autumnal and even wintry, very strong. It is very rich, but the advertising and the beachy vibe do not match the scent at all.
Luckily I tested it before buying; it has no scent, just some soft flowers and that’s it. Safe.
Luckily I tried it before buying it; it smells like nothing, just a soft floral note and that’s it, safe.
I bought it blindly guided by the reviews. I could not wait; I applied it to my arm and the scent is beautiful, smelling of almond milk with a slight, fine hint of jasmine. To be honest, I expected something sweeter; I find this one very soft. Its longevity does not reach 2 hours 😔. What a pity; it is a very expensive perfume. If you want an almond scent but not so expensive, you have the Biografia by Natura, which is a bomb. An excellent dupe for Girl of Now!
I’m wearing it now and I absolutely love it. It’s the only one I didn’t buy blindly; I received a sample and fell in love at first sight, though I had to wait to get it cheap because buying at dollar prices in Argentina is madness. At first, it smells 100% floral, dominated by such fresh jasmine that it feels like a blooming orange tree (the bergamot helps). The almonds and benzoin add a sweet, spicy touch. After an hour or two, the flowers recede and cashmere and sandalwood take centre stage, giving that dry, musky woody tone. It’s exquisite. It works best for me in the afternoon or evening, in cool or bearable heat, because the perfume is intense and warm in itself, like a sweet embrace. The trail is excellent, noticeable from one or two metres away, especially in enclosed spaces. The longevity is top-notch, lasting around 12 hours.
I am wearing it right now and I love it. It is the only one in my collection that I did not buy blindly; I received a sample with another purchase and fell in love at first sight, although I had to wait a long time to get it at a good price, as buying at dollar price in Argentina is complicated since our currency is not worth anything… On the opening, I perceive the flowers at 100%, dominated by jasmine, so fresh it is confused with a flowering orange tree (must be the bergamot adding its own touch). The almonds and benzoin give it a sweet and spicy touch, and after 1 or 2 hours they take more prominence, while the flowers only add freshness. The cashmere and sandalwood arrive at the end, providing that powdery and dry woody tone. It is such a beautiful perfume! I think it performs better in the afternoon or evening with cool weather, or on a warm but not oppressive day, because this perfume is intense and warm in itself, like a loving embrace with just the right amount of sweetness. The trail is very good; it is perfectly perceived at 1 or 2 metres, especially in enclosed spaces. The longevity is excellent, about 12 hours.
It is a supremely feminine fragrance that makes you feel like a diva. Upon spraying, the almond note is noticeable instantly, before giving way to delicate flowers with a sweet touch. I acknowledge that the bottle is very beautiful and delicate, but for the price, I expected greater longevity. On my skin, it is clearly noticeable for 2 hours, after which it clings very close to the skin. Fragrance: 8/10 Packaging: 8/10 Longevity: 5/10 Trail: 5/10
It is a rather particular fragrance; no one ever guesses what it is, but everyone turns their head when they smell it. Super elegant, classic yet also youthful. It lasts quite a while and feels intensely close.
It’s a super unique fragrance; no one can guess what it is, yet everyone turns their head when they smell it. It looks incredibly elegant and classic, yet with a youthful vibe. It lasts a long time and is noticeable from just a step away.
A marvel! Timeless (though in the heat, a spray is sufficient, especially in the evening). If you are looking for something different from what everyone else smells, this is the perfume. It does not go unnoticed but is not invasive either. It has incredible fruity and floral accords, with a sweetness that is not cloying.
I bought the Wonderlust EDP at half price during Cyber Monday, and to be honest, I am very disappointed. No one praises it, and on my skin it lasts absolutely nothing; I would say about half an hour. It has no trail. Very disappointed.
I bought the Wonderlust EDP at half price during Cyber Monday, and to be honest, I’m very disappointed. No one praises it; on my skin, it lasts absolutely nothing—I’d say half an hour. It has no trail. Very disappointed.
I bought it following Irasema’s reviews, blindly, taking advantage of the half-price offer and the beautiful, delicate phone pouch it came with. I received it today and I’m delighted; I can’t stop smelling it. It’s exquisite and exactly as she described: the opening, heart, and drydown evolve in an incredible way. I can still feel the longevity; it’s very good, and the trail is wide. It smells like a high-end perfume and is worth the price for the performance. It’s ex-pec-ta-cu-lar.
I ordered this blindly based on Irasema’s recommendations, taking advantage of the half-price offer and the lovely phone case it came with. It arrived today and I am delighted: I can’t stop smelling it; it is exquisite and delivers exactly 100% of what she describes in her video. The notes, its evolution, and the blend are astonishing. I can still smell it on me; the longevity is very good and the trail is wide. It smells expensive and is worth the price for the performance. It is spectacular! 😍🤩
Feminine, modern and elegant. When a perfume truly falls for you, it becomes a staple in your routine and the bottle empties quickly. I will be buying this again, and this time with my eyes wide open…
It reminds me too much of Dior Addict Eau Fraîche. I bought it blind on recommendations and a special offer. I’m not disgusted by it, but if I’d smelled it beforehand, perhaps I wouldn’t have bought it. The opening doesn’t appeal to me; later it resembles Addict. A bit invasive.
It’s sweet without being cloying; on skin and in fresh weather it has excellent longevity, six hours, and I keep getting bursts of scent. I don’t feel it’s a youthful, cheery perfume; I find it elegant but in a casual way, not too formal.
What a beautiful perfume! Soft, floral with a creamy, powdery almond milk scent, over a base of perfumed woods and benzoin that transports me to a sunset in India. It had been a long time since I smelled something so different. I can’t help but sniff my wrist repeatedly. The only drawback is that on my skin it lasts very little (less than an hour) despite being an EDP. I wish it were more persistent. Edit: after letting it rest for a year, I used it again this winter and to my surprise the longevity improved hugely. It easily reaches five to six hours. I’m still in love. Anyway, I love it and will enjoy every last drop. Edit 2: I’m now in my second winter using this perfume, and certainly it lasts longer on my skin and projects more. I’m still in love as much as on the first day.
I don’t perceive the almond milk on my skin, but on clothes the heliotrope and clove flood the heart; it leaves a soft scent noticeable at an hour, with a small trail, sandalwood and cashmere wood. It smells exclusive, like an elegant lady; if you wear it on your clothes to a ceremony, you’ll receive many compliments, but on skin it becomes aquatic, accentuating jasmine and bergamot. Delicious and recommended. I found it resembles something I once smelled, perhaps Nina Ricci Luna Blossom, but with other nuances.
A blind buy that worked very well. To me, it smells of pure flowers; it’s the first of this style after my passion for fruity notes. It’s hard not to like it.
I like it for cold weather; it has good development but for some reason it clogs my nose and makes me feel sick. I don’t think I’ll repeat it.
The opening is invasive and very creamy, then leaves a touch between almonds and jasmine. Very elegant and long-lasting, the price is moderate. My rating: 8/10.
Michael Kors’ Wonderlust has won me over since the sample vial I ordered in-store. It’s a beautiful fragrance that isn’t talked about much, very feminine and versatile. For me, it opens soapy and refreshing, evolves into a creamy, sweet scent at full throttle, with a woody base that gives it weight; nothing strident, very balanced and easy to like, a worthy wardrobe staple. It resembles others, like Burberry Brit, but with better longevity. The performance is very good, projecting from moderate to outstanding for six or seven hours, at a reasonable price. Who will like it: lovers of citrus-floral-creamy contrast perfumes.
On my skin, it smells like Mugler’s Alien, as if it’s been worn for hours; less sharp but with very similar notes. Sambac jasmine doesn’t always smell like this; it depends on the skin. It lasted four hours on me with good projection, smells delicious and has plenty left. It doesn’t bother others, but I and those close by notice it; it leaves a trail but not as large as Alien. I’m not sure if I’d buy it blind; it needs to be tried on the skin. On my arm it lasted little, but on my neck with four sprays it lasted much longer. I’ll update if I find anything else.
It’s a lovely fragrance, nothing more. Smells like lotion or sunscreen with lots of almond. Ten years ago I used a Laroche Posay moisturiser and it smelled exactly the same; it’s not exclusive, ideal for summer or the beach. Lasts about six hours on the skin, with strong projection initially for at least an hour.
