  Starts with fresh algae, very green, almost as if you’ve just cut them, perhaps a touch too much. In the background, there’s a hint of myrtle, though it’s not the star like in Acqua di Sale. The initial impact settles quickly, giving way to ambergris, which doesn’t seem natural and isn’t ambroxan; it has a dark touch. I see it as a midpoint between Acqua di Sale and Megamare. It smells evocative; it’s not usable like AdiSale or Sel Marin, but rather paints an olfactory landscape like Megamare; this one transports me to a coastal village. Zeitgeist is like a walk along the beach on a cloudy day saturated with algae, not in a bad way, but it’s the least I’ve liked of the four, nothing terrible, simply it hasn’t captivated me. On the opening, it has reasonable potency, but fades very quickly; after two hours it loses its charm and leaves a muddled mix with less defined algae, some ambergris, and a musky base that does linger on the skin for several more hours.
