The box is lovely, but the amber is very muted, giving it a masculine incense note that smells pleasant, yet it’s aimed at those with plenty of money and little perfume experience. Olfactorily, I don’t detect amber, but rather resins in general; if you’re seeking more amber, look elsewhere. Frankly, the main draw of this range is the huge bottles—works of art—and an attempt to make profits with minimal creative effort. It smells like a generic, pretty but irrelevant amber. Despite the price, the longevity isn’t even average: it starts fresh and spicy, then turns woody and resinous with a touch of bitter orange that blends with vetiver, pepper and ginger in the base. After three hours, lasting about two and a half sprays on the body, it fades on my skin. It hasn’t interested me, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find anything worthwhile in this pseudo-niche high-end segment.
