I’m a huge fan of Bortnikoff, and this smells distinctly different from their usual style. The roses dominate, but they’re not elegant; instead, they’re sharp and vibrant. I suppose the pink pepper gives it that edge, even if I can’t detect it directly; it’s there. Adding to the rose is a bergamot that isn’t immediately obvious, yet it provides a nice citrus spark. What I definitely recognise as the signature is the oud that emerges later: it’s not the standout note, but it softens the opening considerably. At times, I get a natural musk vibe, and knowing Dimitry, it might be an undeclared ingredient. In terms of performance, it’s not the best in the collection, but for a natural extract, it’s quite good: 5-7 hours on male skin with a projection of 2-3 hours, perhaps extending a metre further.
