I was pleasantly surprised by Zara D Collection, a clone of YSL L’Homme that I loved, so I decided to try its sibling, Zara A Collection. The three fragrances spell out D-A-Y, and the latter is a clone of Chanel Allure Homme Sport, one of my favourites. At first sniff, it is extremely similar, very pleasant, and for the price, it doesn’t feel as synthetic as expected. I bought it and, upon using it for the first time, I will try to describe what I perceived. In the opening, the two are extremely alike, but as they dry down, I notice slight differences: AHS is creamier due to its vanilla base note, whereas the sweetness of Zara A comes from peach, a note I can distinguish in almost everything I wear. AHS feels higher quality for obvious reasons, but Zara A lacks that synthetic dry-down note that AHS has. AHS lasts 4 to 6 hours, while Zara A lasts 3 to 5, which means it can be reapplied without issue given the price. It is still too early to rate Zara A Collection properly, but it is the closest clone I have smelled to AHS (Versace Pour Homme feels totally different to me), so for the price, it is worth a try. Perhaps I will write another review later once I have used it more.
