Smells odd. I expected something akin to GGA (since it’s by Morillas and other reviews confirm this), but it’s nothing like it. It starts fresh with ginger and herbs, but quickly turns deeply earthy, like very wet vetiver or patchouli. If the name suggested a medicinal garden, they’ve achieved it, but it feels like a waterlogged garden with damp soil. The blend also reminds me of something smoky, slightly waxy or medicinal. In short, intriguing.
It’s like a Gucci Guilty Absolute without cypress and with a herbal twist. Morillas sometimes doesn’t list leather in the notes, as with Black Tie, but here there’s something magical that makes the earthy vetiver and papyrus accord almost disappear. It’s linear yet pleasant, with a touch more quality than the Absolute. They’re very similar until tested side by side. The price is excessive, but it remains a leather scent with enough body to be worth trying.
