In the mid-eighties, Avon sold a trio of girls’ colognes in a triangular box; they were 7ml bottles, one pink, one blue, and one yellow. This perfume smells like that (especially the little yellow bottle), just stronger. All I detect are sweet neroli, very diluted and sunny, and later a fresh, aquatic, and subdued gardenia. Indeed, for some dark magic, it creates an effect of a plastic doll or beach ball… very pretty and reminiscent. Poupée is for carefree, warm days, though in intense heat (33°C+) it can become overwhelming, taking on a rather unpleasant ‘old doll’ air. Ideal if you like extravagant niche scents; if you prefer your perfume to smell like perfume and not a memory, I wouldn’t recommend it. Excellent longevity for something so light, 10+ hours, with moderate to low sillage.

Back in the eighties, Avon sold a trio of girls’ colognes in a triangular box: one pink, one blue, and one yellow. This smells like that (especially the yellow bottle), but more concentrated. All I detect are sweet neroli, very diluted and sun-kissed, followed by a fresh, aquatic, and soft gardenia. For some dark magic, it gives off a plastic doll or beach ball vibe… very pretty and nostalgic. Poupée is for carefree, warm days, though in intense heat (33°C+) it can become suffocating, smelling more like an unpleasant ‘old doll’. Ideal if you like extravagant niche scents; if you prefer your perfume to smell like perfume and not a memory, I wouldn’t recommend it. Excellent longevity for something so light, over 10 hours, with moderate to low sillage.

A subtle white floral; it reminds me of a bouquet of white flowers on a centre table, freshly packaged plastic dolls, and inflatable beach toys.

Smells like a beach ball; the pineapple with neroli gives it a sweet plastic toy note, and although it has no salt, it smells slightly salty—it’s exactly like a beach ball.

  7. This perfume gives me a bit of fear; it never happens with anything else. I love the notes, but on my skin it’s a disaster I can’t stand. I don’t understand why; it’s a total love-hate and contradictory thing, but that’s life :/
