I tried it fresh at the John Lewis and on smelling it, I thought: ‘I’ve smelled this before’. After an hour trying to decipher it, I realised: it’s the Cool Water Intense, a scent I know and used in the past. In my opinion, it smells very similar, but with poorer performance; I had to get very close to notice it. It’s another redundant perfume that adds nothing (given that CWI is cheaper and performs better). From this line, without a doubt, I’ll stick with the Spirit.
A rich fragrance for daily wear. It has the vibe of Montblanc Legend EDT, Percival by Marly, and Abercrombie with an ambroxan base. If you already own those three, do not buy this; however, if you are looking for this style and do not have them, I highly recommend it. It lasts longer than Montblanc (around 6 hours on skin, projecting for 1.5 to 2 hours). Currently, it is only available at the John Lewis department store; personally, I will wait for it to appear in other shops to see if the price drops.

It’s as if they made the white for the EDT: the black is more complete, while the white is the sport version, stripping away the aromatic notes to leave just a base deodorant scent. The Blue is like a sport version of the white, but this time they toned down the deodorant aspect and added marine and citrus notes for that typical energy. Unlike the red, here it’s rounded off perfectly; everything works in harmony and smells great. I recommend it. I’m keen to try the yellow Eros too. Best regards.
Legend Blue is aromatic, herbal, and woody. The opening is sweet-fruity, like pineapple with spicy mint touches, and a lavender base throughout the development. It reminded me of Boss Bottled Unlimited, and I’m not the only one; the resemblance is notable. The scent stays sweet and fresh without many changes. This version is worn in spring, summer, and autumn; it’s versatile and projects joy and optimism, much like the Boss Unlimited. The style ranges from youthful to mature, suitable for casual situations, outings with friends, the cinema, etc. Longevity is good for a freshie, at least 8 hours, though the trail is nothing compared to other Legend scents. I liked it, and I’m sure others will too, but it’s not novel due to the similarity with Hugo Boss. Still, give it a try.

This version can be worn in spring, summer, and autumn; it’s versatile and projects joy and optimism, something I also perceive in Boss Unlimited. Style from youthful to mature, for casual situations, outings with friends, cinema, school, etc. Longevity is good for a freshie, at least 8 hours with me, with a trail that’s not intimate compared to other Legend scents. I liked it and I’m sure others will too, but it’s nothing new, especially due to its strong resemblance to Hugo Boss. Still, I invite you to try it.
It’s a canonical blue fragrance. It smells exactly what this type of fragrance is supposed to smell like. A refreshing mint opening, then the typical ambroxan with wood and a touch of lavender. Although it might seem like there are other notes (at one point I noticed something of pineapple), there aren’t any. It’s super simple but very pleasant. Due to its simplicity, I see it as very usable. It works well in any season, except harsh winter or scorching summer. Day and night. Performance-wise? Discreet projection and just enough longevity. The same goes for Spirit. That’s the problem; perhaps they’re a bit pricey for what they offer. The Montblanc packaging, as always, is excellent, a beautiful bottle. It could be a success as a gift, hard to dislike, although performance-wise it’s just average.
It smells like a generic blend of thousands of blue scents, car air fresheners and department store corridors; it’s exactly everything I hate in a men’s fragrance, and with no perfumer’s signature to speak of, I wiped my wrist with mistol straight away.
Ultra generic. Thousands of blue masculine fragrances, car air fresheners, department store corridors, and heavy experiences come to mind. It has absolutely everything I hate about a ‘masculine fragrance’. They haven’t even dared to sign it off by any perfumer… I’m rushing to wipe my wrist with mistol.
Vulgar.
Montblanc Legend Blue aims to be fresh and easy, and it delivers: it’s clean, aromatic, with a woody and spicy touch that makes it versatile. But, honestly, anything new? Not much. For someone looking for something simply ‘pleasant’ without surprises, it’s a safe bet, but for those seeking something unique, it disappoints. Well-made, but generic. It recalls other fresh lines without a memorable signature. As a Reddit user put it, it’s the back-of-the-closet fragrance for any occasion without drawing too much attention. Its virtue and limitation lie there. It doesn’t stand out or offend, but it lacks a wow factor. Basenotes says it fulfils its purpose but is hard to remember by the end of the day. Longevity and projection are decent but not exaggerated; perfect if you want something discreet and reliable. If you’re looking for exclusivity or personality, it might not be the ideal choice. Where does it fit? Office, casual outings, or hot days when you don’t want something heavy or dominant.
On the skin, it smells like brand new Dove soap. I sniffed it in the perfumerie and the first time, due to oxidation or lack of maceration, it lasted a breath but smelled different and so delicious it made me tremble.
Smells nice, but nothing extraordinary. Medium longevity. I recommend it for hot days or a summer night. The price is average because it smells like other perfumes.
Quite a boring and generic attempt. It feels like Montblanc’s commercial play for a younger audience, a light and bastardised version of Versace Eros: mint with ambroxan, fresher but far more generic and soulless. It smells like something I’ve heard before. Summary: synthetic mint with a ‘bleu’ touch, versatile and commercial, now with a bit of a suffocating effect, close to classic Burberry Men with its well-known lavender-cedar-sandalwood trio. Moderate performance, leaning towards weak: max 5 hours and a very short trail. Total versatility, suitable all year round. Good price for the current market. PS: Do you really think it’s the same as PdM’s Percival or A&F’s Fierce? Cheers.
Smells great, fresh and masculine without being exotic. It’s exactly what a man should smell like. If you’re looking for something similar, here’s another valid option; after all, tastes are subjective.
Smells very good, fresh and masculine without being exotic, exactly what a man should smell like. If there are others that resemble it, so be it; here is another option, and as the saying goes, there are colours for every taste.
Look, I always say this, but I need to try it in different situations. In short, I love it. Do you know the Old Spice Captain deodorant stick? It smells like that, but multiplied by ten and with the potency of a proper fragrance. It’s pure masculinity, brutal projection for the first hour, and that classic blue vibe. Standard performance for its class.
A proper blue fragrance, very masculine; it’s the Dylan Blue, Sauvage from Montblanc, but without the citrusy part of those last ones, going more for a clean, minty scent with a shower gel vibe. Good longevity and projection, lasting around 7 hours on skin and projecting well for the first hour. I think it’s a very good option for a first fragrance due to its low price, justly making competition to rivals such as the already mentioned Dylan Blue. To each their own taste, but it fulfils its duty perfectly.
Another attempt that is somewhat timid, predictable and repetitive. There is a modern, familiar fougère air, almost recycled, very generic. The lavender, cedar and sandalwood form that base we have smelled countless times; everything is so generic that it is difficult to find its own identity. I do not recommend it. It has an astringent touch and lacks the compliment factor found in other blue fragrances. Compared side by side with another blue scent, you will understand better; Dior Sauvage wins hands down. Projection and longevity: very much in line with recent designer fragrances, with a discreet performance. It is harmless and easy to wear, perhaps too much. If you are looking for character, innovation or a memorable aroma that earns you compliments… you will not find it here. Conclusion: there are many other alternatives.

Blue fragrance, fresh and clean. Good trail and projection. What’s the downside? That it resembles its sister, the original Legend (the black bottle), so it ends up being nothing original and even disappointing. It can’t be that more than 10 years later they launch an almost identical concept; what for?… I give it a 7.
To be honest, it smells somewhat like Luna Rosa, the classic from Prada. Sincerely, this Montblanc is quite direct in what the scent goes for, simple, easy to identify but rich and masculine. If you’re looking not to complicate things for something daily that smells masculine, this is your perfume.
The fragrance opens with a clean, vibrant freshness, lavender and mint drawing an elegant, icy start. It’s a sober beginning but with energy, evoking clear, silent mornings with dew on the skin. In the heart, the cedar takes centre stage with its dry firmness, accompanied by a softer sandalwood that adds roundness. At the end, a base of ambroxan blends with the moss, leaving a mossy trail, slightly earthy and musky, which balances the initial freshness with a contained warmth. It’s a composition that represents classic serenity with a modern twist. Ideal for those who appreciate the sober but with intent, for the man who doesn’t need to impose himself to stand out. Confident, elegant without pretension, with a clean air that endures without effort. If it were classical music, it would be ‘Black Shadow’ by Juan Durán, for its restraint and serene depth. In jazz, it evokes the intimacy of Abe Rábade, where the piano becomes landscape. And if it had a colour, it would be wet granite grey, noble, cold to the touch, but with a solid, tranquil beauty like the Galician coast in winter.

Reminds me of perfumes from the 2000s; the mint stands out on my skin. I’ll use it for the day, which is why I bought it; I live in a cold city and it will come in handy. I’ll stay loyal to this brand; with this, it’s my fifth perfume, my top: Explorer, Starwalker, Spirit, Blue, and Individuel.
Mentholated opening, lots of lavender and ambroxan right through to the end. It smells clean, neat, and correct. It’s very versatile and pleasant; perhaps that’s why some despise it for being generic. Not everything has to be Himalayan rose with oud and rhino sneeze; there must also be room for blue, clean, fresh fragrances that everyone likes.
It comes out minty, with lots of lavender and an ambroxan that’s noticeable right through to the end. It’s a masculine fragrance that smells clean, neat, and proper. It’s very versatile and pleasant, perhaps for that reason it’s criticised for being generic; it smells so good and serves for everything. Not everything has to be Himalayan rose, Laotian oud, and rhino sneezes; there’s room for these clean, fresh blue fragrances that everyone loves.
Smells like deodorant to me. I don’t like it at all. I prefer the Starwalker Extreme, and much more so the Emblem.
The one I wear when I want to smell clean and straightforward. It comes out super fresh, then the lavender starts to show after a while. The woody notes kick in next; it smells very similar to the Legend from the black bottle. In short, a good blue fragrance, all masculine, with decent longevity, a fair price, and leaves you with that freshly showered feeling.
If they handed it to me without telling me it was perfume, I’d say it was shaving cream. It smells masculine, slightly sweet, bright, acidic, and fresh. It’s a modest scent, no pretensions. Of course, it won’t win awards for originality or discover anything new, but it’s one of my favourites because it breaks the mould; instead of going sweet at the end, it modernises that classic 90s fragrance with clean lavender. If I had to change something, it’s that the ambroxan lingers at the end without anything to soften it.
Smells like deodorant. I do not like it. I prefer Starwalker Extreme, and much more so, Emblem.
