  1. The evolution on skin is brutal: a strong, acidic opening, but the dry-down turns sweet and sensual. Castoreum and civet accompany that sweetness right through to the final phase. I absolutely love it!

  2. I was looking for an oud with character, nothing like the typical pink-oud that makes me gag. A shop assistant recommended this; at first, it smelled like a stable, softer than Oud de Burgas. I tried it on skin and it didn’t convince me, but once I got home, it smelled of sweet oud with caramel and vanilla. Two weeks later, I bought it and fell in love. What a shame the original Kemi is discontinued; with only 50ml, I’ll run out quickly and will buy another bottle. It’s bold, sensual, and a delight. I wore it to the office and it was a hit; I’m testing the dosage so people can smell it without asking. Highly recommended for oud lovers.

  3. Tremendous this Kemi in the Xerjoff K version! It’s identical to the first version by 98%, which was more animalic and had more ‘acidity’ from the algalia, plus greater longevity. I tested them side by side on each hand.

This perfume was already a masterpiece in Kemi and remains so in Xerjoff; they are exactly the same in every way. It will never be missing from my wardrobe; it’s addictive. It has a Laotian base with animalic nuances that, to my nose, are attractive and mysterious, nothing unpleasant. The aura is sublime: it’s not for sniffing directly but for enjoying as a halo, leaving a trail and compliments. The dry-down is magic: caramelised notes soften the rough composition and calm that animal which suddenly roars again. For me, it’s a 10/10; I said it with Kemi and now I repeat it with Xerjoff. I love it.
