  • I detect a lot of cardamom and sandalwood, and as it dries down, it leaves a soft spiced vanilla. Very rich and smooth, a distinct perfume.

Regardless of whether you like its notes more or less, there’s no doubt it’s a fantastic perfume that only costs 15 euros. With this, Zara is giving many others who charge 100, 150, or 200 for equivalent experiences a piece of their mind. The predominant notes are vanilla, cardamom, and sandalwood, making it very sweet and gourmand. Its longevity on my skin is very satisfactory. I don’t find it fresh, but rather dark and slightly heavy, so I wouldn’t recommend it for very hot climates (at most for summer evenings or nights). Considering its quality and price, I give it an 8.

  • When I first heard it in the shop, it didn’t convince me, but I bought it anyway due to the hype to give it a proper try. At first, for the first two weeks, it still didn’t convince me, and I barely detected it, but now it’s a different story. If you’re looking for something sweet for summer that everyone will like, you’ll love it. I’ve received many compliments, my girlfriend adores it, and she even steals it from my drawer. It’s perfect for any informal occasion, even for the office without being invasive. It’s sweet but not cloying; for me, it’s perfect. The longevity and projection are just about right; the first half-hour projects a lot, then it becomes a personal bubble. I detect it for 5 or 6 hours, after which it stays very close to the skin. For the price, it’s a 10 for me; I’ve already bought another bottle.

  • I’ve been testing it every time I passed Zara, and yesterday I had to buy it, knowing they disappear overnight. The first time, I was disappointed seeing all the fuss, I couldn’t see the point. But as the days went by, I liked it more and more, and it performed very well for a Zara perfume. The scent suits my style; tropical, coconut, creamy, with a part that gives a ‘caramel’ sensation, very pleasant for everyday use and wearable practically all year. Ridiculous price for 100ml; I encourage you to try it at least twice and not stick with the first impression. Completely unisex. I’m not a fan of this brand’s perfumes (especially the very overdone Vibrant Leather), but I recognise they’ve nailed this one. BRAVO.

  • Tested with two sprays at Zara. The opening is odd, dominated by coconut. Then, more coconut, and so on until its two-hour longevity. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not anything special.

  • It smells similar to Male Lover by JPG, just a bit less potent. It seems like it doesn’t last, but it keeps throwing out bursts and becomes very addictive. Very good value for the price.

  • Good colognes, very well achieved. The bottle is elegant. In my opinion, it has traits reminiscent of Bravo by El Ganso. However, Shamanilla is more subtle and less invasive.

  • Code: Pandorum

If its longevity were better, it would be one of my favourites. It settles into a very common and unmemorable vanilla, so I only use it for getting to the car and doing the shopping. The performance is unmatched; you pay two Burger King meals for 100ml. An interesting fragrance from Zara? Undoubtedly. A perfume I’d take if my house caught fire? No, but it wouldn’t be among the last ones I’d choose.

  • After using it all summer, I can confirm it smells different from what I expected. It’s sweet yet fresh, attracts everyone, and doesn’t have any gendered notes that stand out. Its longevity is incredible; it lasts as long as you want, and if you apply it to your clothes, even longer. People have always asked me for it, without exaggerating. What a pity it seems to be one of Zara’s discontinued scents.

  • I’m completely obsessed with it. I think it causes olfactory fatigue because others can smell it on me, but I can’t detect it myself, so I always carry a decant to reapply myself, hehe. I’m not an expert on colognes, but lately Zara has been doing a brilliant job… they’ve got me hooked on several of their fragrances.

  • A controversial fragrance, not because of the scent itself, but because of who has reviewed it on social media and because it’s a Zara fragrance. What I tested lasted 6 hours on skin and much longer on clothes. Be it said to whom it may concern, Shamanilla demonstrates that you don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy a solid gourmand. For 15-20€, it offers something surprisingly good. Don’t expect complexities or twists, because from the start it shows itself to be quite linear. That is where both its charm and its limitation lie. The opening is perhaps its weak point: the coconut water note results in being a bit synthetic, almost plastic, rather than evoking that soft creaminess. It’s not a disaster, but neither is it the opening blow that leaves you wanting more. However, if you can hold out for that somewhat flat beginning, what follows rewards you. The true protagonist is the dry-down, which hooks you. It transforms into a delicious mixture of vanilla and caramel, like a vanilla ice cream dipped in toffee sauce. It’s sweet, not cloying, and although it doesn’t evolve much, that creamy and comforting aroma has enough weight to make it interesting. It’s not a fragrance with a complex olfactive pyramid, but within its simplicity, Shamanilla more than fulfils for those who enjoy an accessible gourmand perfume. Ideal for daily wear, with moderate projection and decent longevity, it’s an ally for those looking for something sweet and affordable. For the price, it’s hard to resist.

  • Acapulcoco with vanilla. A vanilla-infused coconut water, zero cloying, very soft. I had the luck of not reading any reviews and only coming across it in the Zara queue, smelling it, and liking it quite a bit. 100% unisex.

  • I had this perfume and was about halfway through the bottle; I liked it quite a bit and used it for day-to-day until someone asked me: ‘Doesn’t it smell of roasted pepper?’ Indeed, we discovered it was this one. I don’t know how to explain it, but the dry-down smells exactly like that, roasted red pepper and sweet. It’s not a bad smell, but I don’t want to go around smelling like that for the rest of my life, so since then I only keep it in the bathroom, unscrew it, smell it, and laugh.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

Original, unlike any other, it has a refreshing spirit and a sweet point like a coconut on the beach.

  • Mind you, I have very grateful skin for perfumes. I like this one because the dry-down on my skin is sweet, not cloying, and airy, mixed with spices. I notice the coconut little, but the overall sensation fascinates me. It’s not for daily use because it saturates me olfactorily. On my skin, it doesn’t smell of roasted pepper or mint gum or vanilla. It’s a completely original fragrance, with a personal trail that projects like a projectile and lasts and lasts and lasts. For the price, it has convinced me.

  • MissPennyLane

What a marvel that Zara has decided to remove this little gem from its catalogue. It opens with spiced and sweet coconut, settles into that same coconut which remains sweet and slightly woody, and dries on the skin with a very creamy but not dominant vanilla. It reminds me of the smell of a very sweet mint gum from the eighties. Beautiful and unisex.

  • This is one of those fragrances that falls in love with you, and if you see it, you don’t put anything else on. A mad tropical sweetness; it’s the tropics in a bottle. It’s easy because everyone likes it, but it stands out as smelling totally original; there’s nothing else to buy it with, and the quality… needless to say, it smells like you’ve put another bottle in it and costs $300. A work of art.

If Zara keeps this forever, it will become a great classic. This perfume grows on you with use. It’s sweet but not too much, warm, creamy, floral, and vanilla-scented, super versatile. It has that clothes shop air freshener smell that makes you want to keep smelling yourself. I discovered it too late and Zara had already withdrawn it. I hope it returns, like others, even if under a different name.

  • I don’t understand why they’ve taken it off; it’s a unique fragrance. It smells strong, heavy, and sweet, yet not overwhelming. I have the 20ml version and don’t use it because I know they won’t make it again, and when it runs out, it’s gone. What a genuine pity; had I known, I would have taken five or six 100ml bottles… I regret it immensely.

  • ATTENTION! It’s back. I just bought it on the Zara website; it’s available again.

  • What a shame Zara has thrown this away. I picked it up by chance in the men’s section, and months later it was gone from the women’s aisle. It’s pure unisex: cardamom in abundance and a super creamy coconut. Sometimes it smells of pepper, even though it’s not on the label. It’s the only Zara scent (along with Fields at Nightfall) I would buy again without hesitation.

There are perfumes that surprise through their simplicity, and Shamanilla is one. From the start, it envelops you with something soft, creamy, vanilla-floral and slightly powdery, evoking cleanliness and warmth. It doesn’t shout; it accompanies with elegance. The curious thing is that, despite being intimate, it projects well and lasts excellently on my skin. It’s not one of those Zara scents that disappear in an hour: it stays and is noticeable in its low, enveloping tone. It has a class hard to find at this price. I liked it so much that I bought a second bottle and I have no regrets. It’s currently reselling for triple its value, but I have no intention of getting rid of mine. It’s a gem that could be signed by a niche house. Minimalist, elegant and with soul. I don’t understand why they discontinued it. It’s a silent success that goes unnoticed until it disappears. Longevity: 7-8h, moderate but surprising projection, ideal all year round. A forgotten gem.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

It reminds me a lot of Lattafa’s Najdia Intense, especially in the dry down.

  • Leonardo-Ramirez

I just managed to get a decant and the opening is a wonder: it’s an inspiration of the JPG PG but much brighter, radiant, fruity and fresh. When it dries, it reminds me a lot of Zara’s Shamanilla, that mix of coconut water and vanilla. It’s lighter than the original but just as long-lasting.

  • Ever since I smelled it, I fell in love. It’s sad that Zara discontinued it, but I’m not surprised; many stores rotate their catalogues to sell more. It’s tropical but not the typical coconut; it becomes a bit woody and plays with the sweetness, landing on the perfect point without being cloying. I want to smell it forever. The trail isn’t beastly but it’s long-lasting and leaves a subtle scent when you pass by. It has a spicy facet, like in Tommy Impact Spark, which seems to be pink pepper or cardamom. Incredible: unisex, fresh, different, woody and sweet all at once. I won’t finish the bottle unless they relaunch it. UPDATE: They’ve just relaunched it but it’s been reformulated; I tried the new version and it smells more woody, slightly more masculine. But it’s still an incredible scent.

  • A fruity and sweet scent that doesn’t cloy; it suits almost any occasion. It’s one of Zara’s best, alongside the old Ebony Wood.

  • huelemeste

To me, it smells of vanilla and above all cotton candy. It’s not cloying, it’s subtle, yet still sweeter than By The Fireplace, which initially seemed similar to me (though that’s comparing apples and oranges). And that’s all there is to it.

  • antoniiosm

Without a doubt, the best of Zara; top-notch scent and normal longevity. For me, it’s a 10.

  • I think it has too much hype; I bought it after reading incredible reviews. The scent is good, but I notice a new batch with a floral/fruity aroma that overpowers everything else for hours afterwards. The longevity and trail are just okay, but for the price, the composition is very good. Recommended.

  • Look, I’m not sure what they changed, but at first I found it very weak and feminine. Today I tried it again in-store and wow: it’s sweet and creamy, with no sunscreen scent thanks to the sandalwood. You can definitely smell the coconut, but it’s nothing like the JPG PG, as this one is green and salty. It has creamy vanilla and very airy cotton candy, with a floral touch at the end. The performance has surprised me again: it used to last half an hour, but now we’re at 6 hours and it’s still perfect; I’m sure it will reach 8. If it weren’t for the sandalwood, I’d find it more feminine, but it’s unisex and anyone can wear it. It’s versatile, but better in temperate climates to enjoy that tropical touch without feeling stifled or losing potency in the cold.

  • Kiko012001

Great perfume, impressed by its scent and composition (Fino). Very well executed, the best coconut and vanilla I’ve tried. Smells niche or luxury. It lasts me 6 to 7 hours, projects about 2 metres for 3 hours and then stays as a personal bubble for another 3 or 4 hours.

  • My soul soiree

Fine caramel (sponge cake, biscuit), vanilla and mint. It’s not cloying. Very good aroma that also lasts and projects a lot. It’s top tier. It’s hard to believe something so good costs this much. Better than many niches over €150.

  • I tried it a year ago; very feminine, predominantly cotton candy. I got the hankering, but they discontinued it. Now that it’s back, I didn’t miss the opportunity. I’m not much for sweet scents but I love this Shamanilla; now I detect more vanilla and coconut water, less cotton candy. I ordered it online because they said it was out of stock, but when I collected it I saw there were plenty. I’ll certainly buy another one.

  • TheWeightOfTheFragrance

It smells half-decent but unpleasantly synthetic. I know many fragrances, even niche ones like Angels Share, are synthetic, but the difference is that this one is exquisite. Many cheap Arab perfumes smell synthetic yet rich, and once dry the scent is delicious or the synthetic note disappears. This one smells bad. At this price, buy any Arab fragrance; it smells better.

  • Exquisite aroma, abysmal performance. 100ml has lasted me two weeks; it’s not even competitively priced. What a pity, it’s a scent everyone likes, the wearer and those around them.

  • With all due respect, is this perfume? It’s a hyper-soft coconut and vanilla water that lasts exactly five minutes. YouTubers like ‘Qué tal chicos’ are selling smoke more and more; please stop.

  • At first it smells of toasted shredded coconut with vanilla, sweet and creamy. Then, once settled, it’s toasted coconut over fine, subtle wood. It remains sweet, creamy and powdery. Longevity and projection are low. It’s for home, short visits or carrying in your handbag for the day. It also works for sleeping with perfume. Rich, uncomplicated, tender and cosy.

  • First review: I bought it because Carlos Rubio says it smells of vanilla. It’s not sold in Chile, so my partner brought it from Spain. Carlos undersold it; it’s a sweet monster but not cloying. You can detect coconut, vanilla and wood; I didn’t sense cardamom or bergamot. Once dry, it’s magic: vanilla and wood in perfect harmony. People have been asking me about it at work. Projection is bombastic, the trail is decent and it lasts all day, from morning till night. I already have a second bottle and if I’m lucky, a third.

  • thesongofhecate

They put this in everyone’s mouth, but the truth is it smells awful, like carrot with coconut water, not a trace of cotton candy.
