About Ambrosia del Deserto
Ambrosia del Deserto: Gucci Turns to Blood Orange, Dates and Benzoin
Dated 2026, Ambrosia del Deserto is Gucci’s fresh take on the fruity chypre, offered for women and men alike. The nose behind it is Nadège Le Garlantezec.
Expect a journey from sparkling citrus into succulent fruit before settling into mellow resins. Blood orange, apricot, cinnamon and angelica set that luminous yet spiced opening.
At first spray, sharp-sweet blood orange meets the velvety flesh of apricot. Cinnamon lends a cosy warmth, cut through by angelica’s green, almost herbal crispness.
The middle is where dates take charge, honeyed and full-bodied, softened by rose. Immortelle contributes its dry, golden aura, while davana and Pomarose deepen the impression of stewed fruit and petals.
Vanillin and Siam benzoin form the foundation, sugared, ambery and faintly powdery. Patchouli supplies an earthy grip that keeps the chypre structure firmly in place.
The overall character favours sweetness, citrus brightness, fruit and mellow spice, with rose, herbaceous touches, amber and powder drifting throughout. It develops from clarity towards richness rather than changing direction abruptly.
It should suit those who favour contemporary chypres with a gourmand lean but proper backbone. Lovers of rose with dried fruit, amber-vanilla warmth and restrained spice will find plenty to enjoy.
Ambrosia del Deserto conjures arid warmth through citrus, dates, rose and balmy resins. A well-ordered, inviting addition to the Gucci repertoire.
