Antonio Puig S.A. was founded in Barcelona in 1914 by Antonio Puig Castelló. The company started with beauty products and launched Agua Lavanda Puig in 1940. In 1948 it incorporated l'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and in 1968 it created the Paco Rabanne perfume division in France. Calandre, launched in 1969, was Paco Rabanne's first feminine perfume.
The company, now known as Puig, works with its own brands, licences and stakes in perfumery, fashion, make-up and skincare. Its portfolio includes Carolina Herrera, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci, Rabanne, Byredo, Christian Louboutin, L'Artisan Parfumeur and Penhaligon's, among others. Agua Lavanda Puig and Calandre are among its early milestones in perfumery.
