  Prince refused the major brands to create his own essence. He sought a crown of musk, sandalwood, and cedar but encountered a realm that surpasses any jewel. The number 7 sums the digits of his name, his magical and favourite number from the 7 Wonders to the 7 Deadly Sins; that duality defines the scent. It is androgynous: white flowers with cedar and sandalwood woods. It is retro and modern at the same time: avant-garde with classic touches. 3121 is a dark forest sleeping in a cold night without the day’s heat, releasing an elixir of bitter, musky, and spicy white flowers: bergamot, neroli, jasmine, gardenia, lily, and ylang-ylang. There is no sweetness; there are cold, dark white flowers in a moonless night. It is moving blindly across rugged terrain, supported by the warm trunks of sandalwood and cedar, and like a path of yellow tiles leading to the heart of the forest, which is the heart of the prince who commands it. It is a unique fragrance, strong yet delicate at the end. With over 8 hours of longevity and a strong-to-moderate trail, it goes against the current: zero sugar, zero vanilla. It does not seek false applause or to conquer everyone. It wants to be loved with its 7 wonders and sins. R.I.P. Prince. You transcend once more.

  Prince rejected the big corporations to forge his fragrance. He wanted a crown of musk, sandalwood, and cedar gems, but he stumbled upon a realm that transcends any jewel or sceptre. The number 7 sums up the digits of his name, his favourite number from the 7 Wonders to the 7 Deadly Sins; that duality frames the scent. It’s androgynous: white flowers and cedar and sandalwood woods. It’s retro and contemporary at the same time: avant-garde with classical reminiscences. 3121 is a dark forest sleeping in a cold night, shedding the day’s heat, exhaling an elixir of bitter, musky, and spicy white flowers: bergamot, neroli, jasmine, gardenia, lily, and ylang-ylang. There is no sweetness in the air; only cold white flowers in a moonless night. It’s moving blindly through rugged terrain, supported by the still-faint warmth of sandalwood and cedar trunks, and like a path of yellow tiles leading to the heart of the forest, which, like in Oz, is the heart of the prince who rules it. It’s a unique fragrance, strong yet delicate at the end. With over 8 hours of longevity and a trail between strong and moderate, it goes against the grain: zero sugar, zero vanilla. It doesn’t aim to conquer masses or seek false praise. It craves to be loved, with its 7 wonders but also its sins. R.I.P. Prince. You have transcended once again.

  3121 Prince Good afternoon Ylla: Thanks to your review I bought it blind and I absolutely love it! Well, let me give my opinion: I don’t understand why there is only one review before mine for this magnificent perfume (thank goodness there are plenty in English). I’ll start from the outside in because the packaging caught my attention: a box within a box. The outer one has a photo of Prince, and the inner one features a kaleidoscopic image in orange and purple (Prince’s fetish colour). In the centre, the number 3121 appears vertically. Upon opening, a beautiful bottle with purple liquid and the number 3121 vertically on a gold background. This shows great care, especially given the modest price. It isn’t the typical celebrity perfume, not even with references to Elizabeth Taylor. The best part is the fragrance: it gives the impression of a high concentration of essential oils. The opening is floral but mixed with cedar. The combination of flowers, highlighting the gardenias first and then the neroli, is exquisite. As it dries, the flowers soften and reveal the cedar, musk, and patchouli. Let’s not forget the sandalwood. The whole ensemble is wrapped in an incense-like halo that provides good fixation. The trail is heavy for two hours, then moderate. Longevity is moderate, leaning towards long-lasting. It came out in 2007 and doesn’t seem typical of its time when fruity and aquatic scents were in fashion. It seems more baroque or futuristic. A perfect blend of the past and the future. Thanks to Prince’s image, it suits both men and women. It is super original and different from all others. An opulent and excessive perfume, just like Prince’s own image. For me, it’s a true jewel. I already have a spare one. I use it at costume parties (obviously a Venetian ballroom) as well as at outdoor rock concerts. The price is certainly a bargain. Apart from his songs and stage presence, Prince can also be remembered for his fragrance. Regards.
