Allure Sensuelle by Chanel is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2005, the nose behind this composition is Jacques Polge. The top notes reveal patchouli, pink pepper, peach, mandarin and bergamot; the heart unfolds Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose, iris, jasmine and dried fruits; while the base notes complete the olfactory pyramid with patchouli, vanilla, spices, sandalwood, vetiver, labdanum, lavender and amber.

The first thing I highlight is that I don’t have chemistry with it. Allure Sensuelle doesn’t resemble Allure at all, which is infinitely superior for me. While Allure has sweetness and warmth, this lacks both. I don’t consider any fragrance sensual that isn’t warm, so the name seems ill-chosen. For me, it has no sensuality. The opening is dry, almost arid, spicy and masculine. Then, once it stabilises, it leaves a slightly sweeter and softer scent, but at no point do I stop perceiving the dryness. It’s a chemistry issue because on clothes it smells wonderful; it seems like a different perfume. I wouldn’t recommend buying it without trying it. Its longevity is medium-moderate and the trail is soft and moderate. I usually wear it in summer and spring, during the day, due to the dryness it conveys. But on clothes it’s totally different. Sometimes I perfume clothes and not skin, and it’s another story. Mysteries of chemistry and pH, I suppose.
I also don’t have chemistry with it because I don’t like it at all. The best thing is the bottle, quite pretty. Otherwise, I don’t like the opening, the development, or the trail. I don’t see it in the Fragrantica composition, but I swear it carries incense and a lot of it.
I didn’t know which fragrance reminded me of it until I remembered: it’s very similar to Chanel’s 31 Rue Cambon Les Exclusifs. What is most felt is the iris, patchouli, roses, and spices.
Everything has its time, and mine arrived with a sample that made me fall head over heels for ALLURE SENSUELLE. I absolutely love samples because nowadays it’s hard to find true love among so many perfumes; I don’t think there’s time to smell them all. The name in French means ‘Sensual Look’ or ‘Sensual Gaze’, although ‘Allure’ in English is attraction and seduction. I adore its slender bottle that fits in any handbag; the box is gorgeous and the cap, with that mauve tone between fuchsia pink and a gold ring, promises the juice’s style. But it’s not the design that enchants you, like almost all Chancels: they do it without trying, and I’m fascinated by all their bottles. This fragrance is for a woman who wears jeans or sexy dresses, short or long skirts, a short with a crochet blouse, boots or towering heels. She can wear red lipstick at 15 and at 60, because the woman who wears this fragrance already has sensuality and femininity inscribed on her skin; the perfume is just the finishing touch. I don’t think any woman can wear it; you need to be very comfortable with yourself. This perfume tells you: DARE, and I dare. It has many friends and enemies, and that’s good. As the written thought (attributed to Martí or Gracian) says: ‘They say it’s sad not to have friends, but sadder is not having enemies. For whoever has no enemies is a sign that they have neither talent that casts a shadow, nor goods that are coveted, nor character that impresses, nor feared value, nor honour that is whispered about, nor any good thing that is envied.’ This perfume has friends, enemies, talent, character, and a trail that is whispered about and perhaps envied. I don’t know all the notes in detail, but rose, iris, peach, and patchouli are evident. It has a tiny touch of sensual sweetness (perhaps the patchouli), not the modern gourmet sweet, but oriental, pleasant and warm. You wear it in winter, summer, day or night, although many prefer it at night. I always notice favourable reactions, especially from men, but I perfume myself for me; if someone enjoys it, that’s a bonus. Use it with caution: little, so as not to suffocate, because unexpectedly you might receive hugs just to smell you.

What a beautiful review by Olorami, one of the best I’ve read! Now, Allure Sensuelle: I find it more powerful and intense than the classic. It’s sweeter and stronger, fitting the name very well. It’s a bolder and more seductive version. Not every woman can wear it; it doesn’t depend on age, but on personality. It’s not made for the masses, but for those who identify with something sparkling, spicy, and sweet at the same time. Can Chanel create so many liquid works of art? My mother uses the classic and I thought about gifting her this one. I tested it at the perfumerie today and she insists she likes it. For me, it’s another Chanel platonic love: I like it, but I don’t have the ambition to take possession of it. It’s not my type and that would ruin it; one must recognise a good perfume. It’s bold, sophisticated, and full of personality. Forbidden to buy it without understanding it first.
What a beautiful review by Olorami! One of the best and most passionate I’ve read. Well, now let’s proceed with Allure Sensuelle: It seems more potent and intense than classic Allure. It’s a bit sweeter, stronger. I think its name suits it very well. It’s a bolder, more seductive version. I agree that not every woman can wear this perfume. It’s not for a certain age, but for certain personalities. I don’t think any woman can easily identify with this perfume, regardless of her age. Since it wasn’t a perfume made for the masses, but for people who identify with it: so sparky, spicy, yet sweet at the same time. Can Chanel create so many works of art in liquid? My mother uses classic Allure, and I’ve thought about gifting her this one. Today I’m wearing it because they showed it to me in the perfumery (already for the second time, the first was months ago) and she, every time she smells it, insists that she likes it. For me, it’s another of my platonic loves of Chanel: I like it, but I don’t have the ambition to possess it. Instead, I admire it even in others, because it won’t be the same the day I wear it with the intention of adorning myself with it; it’s not my type, and that would ruin it; I wouldn’t appreciate it in reality. But one must know how to recognise a good perfume. Bold, sophisticated and full of personality. Forbidden to acquire it without understanding it first.
What a fantastic review by Olorami! Whether we agree or not, it’s thrilling! To me, Allure Sensuelle is in one word: sophisticated. I find it ambiguous, shrewd, feminine. At times it’s juicy, fruity-floral, sweet, and then it sways dry and spiced; in an instant it seems classic and conservative, and then modern and avant-garde nuances. All of this is interesting, more than charming. For my nose, the most significant notes are: iris, rose, patchouli (very prominent), peach, sandalwood, and spices (also prominent). The others are subordinate, although amber and vanilla add warmth and a sweetness that isn’t cloying. I think the ideal season is spring, for my taste, during the day. It conveys serenity, temperance and sophistication. I agree that it’s not for every taste or personality. Using a metaphor: it’s not a fruit juice, nor lemon tea, nor a Pepsi, nor hot coffee or chocolate that women who claim not to drink alcohol choose to appear pretty or reserved; nor is it a beer or the happy hour liquor. It’s an understated cocktail, with ingredients that stimulate the palate without saturating it; it’s the case of the woman who, without seeing the menu, orders a specific brand, presentation and temperature of what she wants. I think I understand when Olo cites the words of Martí or Gracian: it makes me think of the experience of frequently untangling the admiration of some and the envy of others, without ever being unnoticed. A woman who understands that situation can use a fragrance like this: capable of generating interest, untangling passions, affection or incomprehension, and certainly, controversy. I find it very wearable, pleasant and feminine.
Before commenting, I must praise Olorami; their review is fantastic! To me, Allure Sensuelle seems sophisticated. It’s ambiguous, shrewd, and feminine. At times it’s juicy, fruity-floral, and sweet, then it becomes dry and spiced; in an instant it seems classic and then modern and avant-garde. Everything is interesting, more than enchanting. The notes I detect are iris, rose, patchouli (very present), peach, sandalwood, and spices. Amber and vanilla add warmth without being cloying. Ideally for spring, during the day. It conveys serenity and sophistication. It’s not for everyone. Using a metaphor: it’s not a fruit juice or a light drink to appear healthy, nor a party beer; it’s an understated cocktail with ingredients that invigorate without saturating. It’s like the woman who orders exactly what she wants without looking at the menu. It generates admiration and envy, passions, and controversy. It’s very wearable, feminine, and I like it.
For me, Allure Sensuelle isn’t just a perfume; it’s an unforgettable experience. Every day I use it, the reactions are incredible, whether from men or women (certainly it produces envy in some). I’m not an expert in notes, but my sensitivity tells me it’s the perfect accessory to reinforce my character, personality, and femininity. I feel it was made especially for me: elegant, delicately strong, unpredictable, sophisticatedly bold, and authentic. For me, it’s totally extraordinary.
It’s more sophisticated and sensual than its brother, Allure, which I’m a fan of. Allure is more serious and classic, while this one explores much more feminine experiences. I think it’s deliciously feminine, less reserved than the other, with a spicy and sexy point that makes it unique despite the similarities. Without a doubt… I want it.
It is more sophisticated and sensual than its sibling Allure, of which I am a devoted fan. Let’s say Allure is more serious, classic and less transgressive than Allure Sensuelle, which, starting from the same base, explores much more feminine experiences. I think it is a deliciously feminine fragrance, not so ‘reserved’ as Allure, but with a spicy and sexy touch that makes it different from its sister, despite their similarities. Without a doubt… I want it.
Well, although the name and that mysterious air already shouted its purpose from the laboratory, the true conquest was something that activated in the user. Chanel didn’t want us to be beacons of scandal, but rather for the fragrance to make us feel emotionally surrendered to sensuality. As Olorami rightly said, which I recommend reading. As for the scent: it plays with the cheekiness of pink pepper, mixes it with woody patchouli, and refreshes it with citrus, plus a subtle fruity-sweet touch of peach that goes unnoticed. Then comes the abundance of Damask rose, wrapped in a powdery iris that smells like foundation. It all closes with a spiced, salty, and aggressive vanilla, with a minimal sandalwood that reinforces the wood thanks to the long-lasting patchouli. It’s a perfume to attract attention; its trail isn’t an atomic bazooka, but it is very perceptible and superior to the norm, without being overwhelming. It’s the ‘ideal intensity’. If you don’t feel comfortable standing out, it’s not for you. This edition, which even arrived in perfume format, isn’t for minimalist tastes or soft citrus, but for those seeking depth without falling into vulgarity. It’s versatile and original. Sensuality lies in the aroma; it’s not magic that turns you into a sexual symbol, but if you live sensuality as she proposes, you can master it with her.
Allure Sensuelle is the perfume for a woman who seduces without being vulgar; someone who has evolved and lives their day-to-day with passion and peace. She is authentic, free, and mature, with no time for bitterness but plenty for caring for her surroundings. She has the strength and dynamism to walk through life without yielding to frivolities. It’s not just a scent; it’s a complete experience. Olfactorily, it’s a perfect puzzle where everything blends into something new: crisp autumn air with wet woods, body-rich citrus with a velvety texture. It’s an experience worth trying. For me, it’s for autumn and winter, ideal for cold weather, day or night.
Does anyone know if Allure Sensuelle is no longer in stock? I’m from Argentina and can’t find it. If anyone knows where to get it in CABA, it would help me immensely.
I gifted it to my mother and it’s a bomb of vanilla, patchouli, and rose. It smells incredible, with a longevity and trail that have no comparison. Totally recommended.
I absolutely love Allure Sensuelle; I find it bolder with a great trail and a sparkling projection. I like it more than its predecessor, Allure. Highly recommended.
It’s a brilliant fragrance. I don’t understand why they call it ‘Sensuelle’, because it isn’t; it’s more like its sister, Allure EDP. However, it is an attractive, rich scent with top-quality notes from start to finish. The patchouli really stands out, reminiscent of Coco Mademoiselle but here it is sweet, creamy floral with a spiced and oriental aura. It suits women with initiative and a defined personality perfectly, and it’s wearable all year round. I admit it’s expensive, but its performance is superior to what’s currently on the market. With just a couple of sprays, you can last all day. In short, it’s a nod to the independent, charismatic woman with a contemporary femininity. High-quality raw materials from the genius Jacques Polge. It’s worth trying if you want to leave an elegant trail with nuances. Totally recommended.
I LOVE IT, I’M NOT A FAN OF CHANEL PERFUMES IN GENERAL, I THINK THEY SHOULD STUDY AND MODERNISE THEIR PERFUMES BUT THIS AND ITS SISTER ALLURE SUIT ME PERFECTLY. SOFT WITHOUT ANY STRIDENT NOTES AND THEY INTEGRATE PERFECTLY. I’M ASTONISHED. I THINK I’LL GET THE SENSUELLE, IT SEEMS MORE SPECIAL. DEDICATED TO REBEQUITA WHO UNDERSTANDS MY RARE PH ISSUES WITH THE CITRUS NOTES.
I bought this perfume without testing it, as I love Chanel Allure and the truth is this version didn’t enchant me… The oriental woody and spiced notes come across as quite strong and sweet, and its trail lasts a long time; I feel it suits my skin but it’s not one of my favourites; when I apply it, people sniff me and ask what perfume is it? It smells delicious!! But the truth is when it runs out I won’t buy it again….
It has a slightly woody and mildly spiced opening that initially makes the patchouli jump out with the mandarin and vetiver; that’s how I’ve always felt it, as in the end it settles into a powerful, sandalwood-infused and majestic vanilla. One of the best the Chanel house has done. It has all the touch of exquisiteness that a perfume like this deserves. And I love it deeply, as it lasts eternally on skin and clothes, leaving a divine dry-down and a very, very wide trail. It’s toxically delicious.
The most beautiful scent. It might make you think on first sniff that it’s already smelled in another Chanel fragrance, but then it develops in a completely different way, although it has the DNA of a Chanel… It’s indisputable. For me it’s like mixing Allure EDT and Coco EDT and fusing them. On my skin it becomes a bit dirty, as if it had some animalic note like civet. A spiced vanilla with the dense patchouli of this house (signature note of this house) has a great iris that makes it a bit powdery and its sandalwood is very much in the style of Samsara. I love that it’s not overly mass-produced. They’ve confused it with Coco Mademoiselle… Good sillage for the first two hours and then it lingers for another 6 hours. Elegant beyond measure. Love and period.
Its scent is infinite… Well, I exaggerate a little or perhaps not. It smells very good; it’s a floral scent, a tiny bit classic, in my perception, eyeing it closely, it doesn’t remind me of the original Allure; you can feel patchouli, light jasmine, sweet roses, sweet vanilla with a light talc and woody touches that make it elegant, which is why I say it gives the impression of a classic perfume, which with a minimum splash is avoided and stays fresh so it doesn’t cloy anyone. Summary: it should be applied with caution, as it depends on the activity you’re attending; I think due to its atomisation quantity it can be chameleon-like, adapting to the place. It smells delicious, but I didn’t feel it was for me. I had it on my arm and it had a somewhat oily consistency, therefore its longevity is excellent. Explanation: I got home and my mum, like a little bee behind me, what was she carrying on, showed it to me and said it was delicious. I bathed and put a lot of soap on my arm unconsciously, as is normal, changed clothes and the scent was still there 😳😳😳, and my mum said it was delicious. I know what her gift will be, as it will suit her; she liked it much more than me; she’s almost 60.
Lately I’ve been appreciating Chanel’s creations more; this one is years old but I never really paid much attention to it. Today I tried it and I love it; I’m very bad at defining scents, I detect a citrus that I think is bergamot and mandarin, powdery, which I understand comes from the Iris, and a background of vanilla so balanced, so fine, so elegant and so delicious. It reminds me of Shalimar Soufflé, the only Shalimar I can tolerate; I think it suits summer perfectly and any occasion. I just hope it has good longevity, I haven’t checked yet, but it surely will; it will definitely be my next purchase ☺
I bought it very recently blind; it is undoubtedly a Chanel, it would be a nice scent, and based on the notes I expected it to be warmer and more woody, however on my skin it is greener than I expected. The citrus notes rise to become almost effervescent with pink pepper and a very light patchouli… Over time the citrus notes recede but don’t disappear, and I appreciate some faint soapy roses with a vanilla touch… It’s a beautiful scent, but I don’t feel the talc, nor the wood, nor the earth, nor the warmth… In the end, what’s left close to the skin is pink pepper and vanilla, that’s what I feel.
The opening still doesn’t convince me; I find it very sharp (though I imagine it’s my skin), but the dry-down is beautiful: elegant, feminine, modern and yet classic. I feel sexy, but sexy like a corporate executive of a major company, in a Chanel suit and stiletto heels. It lasts about 6 or 7 hours on my skin, which is what I smell, but others smell it for longer. I give it 9 for the opening.
Chanel is my favourite house; I haven’t tried anything of theirs that disappointed me, perhaps Gabrielle due to its short longevity, but its scent is delicious. This fragrance is one of my favourites for feeling strong, empowered and victorious; I wear it when I need to make an impression at a work meeting. It lasts about 8 to 12 hours on skin and on clothes, needless to say, the trail never fails. It has a spicy, super-spiced opening that leaves me intrigued, and after an hour, the floral side of the rose emerges without losing its vanilla and woody touch, which imposes sensuality, elegance and strength. It’s one of my all-time favourites, although in my city with so much heat I don’t wear it daily, but when the occasion allows, I don’t miss enjoying it. Rating: Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Scent 10/10, Price 8/10 (it’s a bit pricey).
I’m trying this wonder again and liking it more each time. I adore that touch of Chanel that draws me in; that blend of notes and structure makes it so distinct. I’m convinced that the fact that the perfumers are almost always from the same family, the Polges, gives it that unique signature. After trying Coco, Mademoiselle, Allure and Chance, I’m nearly certain that patchouli is what makes Chanel unique. It usually sits in the background, subtle and serious, yet present from start to finish. I just realised this with Allure Sensuelle, which also features patchouli in the opening. Could that be why it’s ‘Sensuelle’? Signed off: the patchouli of Chanel.
Yesterday I finally bought this exquisite fragrance that was difficult to decide. I had wanted a good Chanel fragrance in my collection for a long time; the first thing that came to my mind was the classic Chanel N5. I went to the shop, they tested it on me and unfortunately it evaporated in about 15 or 20 minutes. So I read reviews and by its name and pyramid I was certain I would like it. I went, they tested it on me and incredibly it lasted less than an hour. I asked my husband to smell the tester because perhaps I was fatigued in my olfaction, but he couldn’t perceive it either. The truth is I was very frustrated, let a week pass and tried again… it lasted a bit more, but it wasn’t comparable to Chanel quality. Again disappointed and bewildered I left without buying. Yesterday I was looking for Coco Noir to see if it matched better with my skin, but it wasn’t in the shop, so I decided to try again with this fragrance that had me enchanted. Yesterday the “miracle” happened: a spray on the arm and I went out to have a coffee; while the hour passed I still perceived the beautiful scent. I have been so happy that it was already late, but I hurried and arrived at the shop almost at closing time, determined and convinced, to ask for it and buy it. Like me, they will be wondering how it could be that other times it didn’t fix on my skin… let me tell you I ask myself the same. Perhaps it’s some medicine I take for a bone problem, perhaps the weather, perhaps hormones. I am a 43-year-old woman… I don’t know, but I noticed the tester they applied with was very new; it could be that the other tester was very exposed to light and affected the fixation or the power… perhaps… I don’t have an answer. I can only say that the complimentary spray (a single splash) is still felt at skin level, already very weak, more than 9 hours have passed and even if I bring my nose close I can feel it. That’s why I give you a tip: if something like this happens to you and you really have doubts, try more than once because sometimes it’s our body or the weather that interferes with the performance. I am happy, really my husband has a gold patience, he has three or four perfumes, it’s a lot. I have a considerable collection, I really enjoy perfumes a lot. I recommend you try several times before giving up on the purchase. Greetings to all perfume lovers!!!
I got married wearing this jewel, in December by the beach, neither cold nor heat, temperature of 25°C. It’s beautiful, lasted the whole evening, and from there entering the colder season I loved it more. Definitely it’s for autumn-winter. A week ago I used it with 35°C heat and pfff, I couldn’t bear it, very penetrating, nevertheless it’s the best Chanel fragrance; everyone compliments me when I wear it, even that day I couldn’t bear it. It will be my signature, definitely I will replenish it.
I didn’t expect it, the Chanel Allure range never caught my attention. A perfume-loving friend gave me samples, including this one, and it is sexy without trying to be, with very good longevity and a fragrance for special occasions.
Of all the Chancels I have tried, this is the most me (33F). Nevertheless, in the opening you notice the typical house DNA, very “clean but dense”, which doesn’t fully convince me because I don’t feel it fits well, but after the opening I like that it is warm, soft spicy and sensual. Normally with the spicy ones I feel them “dirty” to wear them straight after the shower, and this has the right mysterious touch I like, a dark touch but without reaching black (I usually like “purple” and “red” perfumes and avoid “pink” and “green” ones). It has several drying phases; the only one I don’t like is one where I smell like Chanel n°5 but with many non-sweet spices (I like cinnamon and saffron, but not cardamom or pepper) and it’s not that I dislike it, but it becomes more “complicated” to wear compared to the sweeter phases. At the moment, after more than 5h of use in the shop, I smell a very pleasant but very soft sandalwood and iris, almost skin-scented (and I usually don’t like iris as a protagonist, but here I like it quite a bit). It’s not what I would buy right now, but it seems an interesting option for formal and semi-formal situations to wear a “mysterious” fragrance.
Signature fragrance, they conquered me with their notes from the first sniff. I am a collector and it is one of the few that have driven me mad, totally sensual and to my taste for night; I prefer to use it in autumn-winter, although I could use it all year with a lower dose. It’s a fragrance that dresses you, makes you noticed and causes an impression wherever you go. I am happy to have it in my collection, I recommend it with eyes closed. Whoever wears it is the Pandora box that many want to open.
What a work of art this fragrance is, the only one I repeat when it runs out. When I went to buy it I compared its brother Allure EDP with this. It was a difficult decision, although they are very similar, and I consider that a mix of both would be spectacular. Curiously, I consider the Allure EDP more sensual than this Sensuelle, but this is deeper, more feminine, mysterious and that’s why I chose it. The opening reminds you of another Chanel, but after a few minutes it becomes a magnetic vanilla, nothing synthetic like those of today, a juicy and sweet special mandarin accompanied by a fixing wood that is very warm.
I like it, although my nose stops picking it up quickly. I know it’s on the clothes, because when I take them off I can feel it, but it disappears… and that doesn’t please me much. It’s a very fine vanilla with a bit of spices, sandalwood and amber. That creates an elegant, classy and warm scent. Then there’s a slightly “rough” or green note. I don’t know if it’s the patchouli or the vetiver. The point is that it adds more class… but, repeat, it fades away. To finish, I think fresh days in between (not rainy) are its thing.
I’ll just say that this fragrance perfumes the environment. I had the chance to try it a long time ago and it smells like ripe fruit. It’s a feminine scent, somewhat jovial, but I feel it’s more for a mature woman (like the fruit it smells like 😂😂). It would be good to try it before buying, but I recommend it 100% 🕉️🕉️🕉️
Review based on the previous formula. I’ve been testing Allure Sensuelle for a while and loved it a treat, but never managed to buy it (it’s expensive, like any Chanel, but quality has a price), so I added it to my wishlist and it’s still there, laughing, I don’t know when I’ll have it. Anyway, I tend towards a minimalist collection, as this passion for perfumes is costly. In my opinion, it’s like the rocker brother of the classic Allure (which I like less, and that’s thanks to AS existing). AS is a complex formula: it opens with citrus and a strident patchouli, very rebellious and without sweetness, which calms down a bit with the roses becoming sweet-floral-woody, velvetised by sandalwood and slightly powdery by iris, with a touch of honey, many spices, something green and a lovely vanilla. Words aren’t enough to describe this olfactory sensation. I love the Chanel DNA in general. AS is a fragrance that dresses you in femininity, elegance, mystery, sophistication and sensuality, just as its name says, but a sober sensuality that subtly traces an androgynous line, highlighting that wild side. It’s very well balanced, addictive and very long-lasting. It’s a jewel of perfumery. It has very good performance. As I always say, test before buying.
Allure Sensuelle delivers on its promise: it’s not just a promise, it’s reality. On my skin, it transforms into living wood, with a chypre touch where the patchouli, precise and unpretentious, integrates with mastery into a silent elegance. Many keep it for parties; I don’t. Because when you realise life is a sigh, you discover that the best time to wear a fragrance is now.
Allure Sensuelle: its name says it all. It’s not a promise, it’s a certainty. On my skin it becomes living wood, with a chypre hint where the precise, unobtrusive patchouli, and all the notes are integrated with mastery towards the terrain of silent elegance. Many keep it for special occasions. I don’t. Because when one understands that life is a sigh, one discovers that the best time to use a fragrance is now.
