  At first it smells like old soap, the first spray from the bottle I just bought. It doesn’t disgust me, but it’s not my style; it sounds like something I can’t quite place. It’s a strange scent… and I can’t stop sniffing myself. I’ll edit this later; for now, I’m torn. After two days, it still doesn’t convince me. It’s a peculiar blend, smelling of something old and warm… I won’t say it’s bad; those nuances are realistic, but simply not to my taste. Performance: I’ve been told I smell like a coffin. Longevity: quite good, lasting many hours with strong projection for the first two, then moderate.

To moderate its intensity and add a softer side, I tried layering it with a vanilla from Adopt (Vanille Ravageuse). This vanilla is warm and sweet without being cloying, a promising option. In this blend, Amber & Spices becomes sweeter and less dark, retaining its essence. The Vanille Ravageuse wraps its spices and amber in a velvety creaminess, making the scent rounder, softer, and exquisitely elegant. This creates a warm, sweet symphony where the spices, though in the background, provide warmth. This fusion improves the longevity and sillage of both, elevating the profile of Amber & Spices with sophistication and approachability, making it more versatile and captivating. Once mastered, this combination will secure a special place in the arsenal of any lover of oriental perfumes.
