Ambre Impérial by Van Cleef & Arpels is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2015, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Quentin Bisch. Very sweet vanilla without being cloying (I wouldn’t call it gourmand). The ingredients are high quality and you can tell you’re paying for it. In this line, I believe Tom Ford’s Noir Extreme is superior, although there the floral notes accompany the omnipresent vanilla (also sweet but less so). I’m currently testing it to check the trail and longevity. Would I buy it again? Probably not, as it hasn’t blown my mind. I always say there are infinite olfactory universes to discover.
A quality vanilla and amber dessert that feels edible. The value for money depends on your budget; I find it pricey compared to others in that line, but the ingredients and brand justify the cost. Ideal for evening wear or a romantic date. If you like gourmand scents like crème catalana without spending a fortune, try Fort Royal by Le Couvent des Minimes. Ambre Imperial is more elegant but sits in the same family. For intimate moments, I choose Ambre Imperial. Projection: 1.5 to 2 metres. Longevity: 6 to 8 hours. Average rating: 8.5.
I bought it blindly and it was a mistake. The pH played tricks on me again. It smells only of amber, and worst of all, dirty and very animalistic. All the reviews paint it as a popular vanilla scent, but tastes vary. I’m selling it; use it yourself, or contact me if you want to buy it.
