  It’s rich, versatile and wearable, though not very original. It smells very good, yes, but it’s something I’ve smelled and smell often. It’s sweet, with a citrus touch at the start that turns creamy, talc-like and dry, with a light wood and a hint of spice. Ideal for the day or the office, perhaps more masculine but a woman would wear it well. Performance is good but projection is short, typical of MFK. I like it, though its resemblance to designer perfumes like Hugo Boss makes it hard to justify against cheaper options. It’s the scent of a forty-something office worker, but a good one. Scent: 7.5, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Value: 5, Versatility: 9, Originality: 5, Overall: 7.5.

  At first, I thought it was synthetic, but dry down is a wonder: soft sweet with a citrus touch, no vanilla. Smells clean, formal, elegant, not soapy. It’s unisex and versatile, though I’ve heard this scent before without remembering where from. 100% blind buy, unlike the Baccarat. Good trail, though it doesn’t last past an hour. I’d wear it without complexes.

  If anyone says it smells like ‘lots’, they’ve got the wrong version; this is love in a bottle, nothing generic. Does it smell expensive? Yes. Is it fresh and sweet? Also. The only snag is the price: at €300 for 70ml, MFK is asking you to pull the trigger happily. It’s in the luxury league, but who is it for? For romantics willing to pay the premium for that 0.5 that separates a 9.5 from a 10.
