Descripción

Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria is a citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. The top notes reveal Calabrian bergamot and petit grain; the heart unfolds with ginger and cardamom; and the base notes complete the olfactory pyramid with white musk and woody notes.

A Mediterranean fragrance. Fresh, soft, clean and luminous. It’s spring-like and summery. Unisex and even suitable for the whole family. A versatile and delicate cologne water. It has quality and is tremendously addictive, with ginger harmonised with citrus notes making it sparkling. I find it very pleasant and distinguished. The white musk gives it fixation and a very distinctive Mediterranean soap touch. If you’re looking for a cologne water with quality essences that recalls a Mediterranean garden bathed in sunlight, this could be the scent to accompany you gently all day. Plus, there are very good deals in several perfumeries. A fragrance with its own light. I love it.

  • The Allegories vary greatly in quality; some deliver, others less so. Calabria Bergamot works perfectly: it’s an ideal choice for anyone seeking a summery, colourful, fresh bergamot, yet without those usual harsh, acidic citrus notes. It’s a pure citrus that captures the fruit’s best qualities, with refreshing top notes of peel and pulp. I remember when I first tried it, pairing it with seafood pasta and fruit salad; it was a remarkably realistic scent, hard to recreate today. Here, it’s beautifully composed to be approachable. It smells of skin and oil, without any metallic edge, pulpy and creamy, with that delicious, slightly naturally sweet bitter touch. It’s fresh but not in an obvious way; summery yet with body, volume and presence. The sparkling dry down smells of very natural, happy sweet lemon, leaving the effervescent accents soon. There are hints of lime, lemon and orange peel, so colourful they remind me of flowers or lemon sugus, always with that bitter green oil. I gifted it to my mother and she wears it without much passion, but I love how it suits her. It’s surprisingly dense and colourful, as if it carried flowers. The citrus notes are very persistent and crisp. The performance is good; applied generously, it has a nice trail and longevity better than expected.

  • The Allegories are a mix of performance and quality. Some deliver, others don’t… some are colognes priced like branded EDTs, while others are true luxury EDTs. With Calabria Bergamot, everything works as it should. It’s an option that makes life easier for those who love bergamot and seek something summery, colourful and fresh, yet far from those soapy, acidic citrus scents that fade quickly. It’s a pure citrus, but where it gets the best: the oils of the skin, the refreshing pulp. Years ago I tried bergamot dressing seafood pasta and fruit salad. It’s a scent hard to find. I understand that nowadays it’s not easy to recreate something so realistic. Here it’s nicely adorned to be pleasant. It’s a bergamot of all skin and oil, without hard peel, pulpy, creamy… with that delicious bitter point, slightly sweetened naturally, not with sugar. It’s fresh, but not obviously so; summery, yet with body, volume and presence. The opening is sparkling, smelling of a very natural, happy sweet lemon, but soon leaves behind the effervescent citrus accents. There are notes of lime, lemon, orange peel… so colourful it makes me think of flowers. Sometimes of lemon sweets. But always with that green, bitter, delicious skin oil. I gifted it to my mother and she uses it without much passion, but I love how it suits her. Surprisingly dense and colourful, as if it carried flowers. The citrus notes are very persistent and sharp. The performance is good. If you apply a little, it has good projection and longevity, better than one might expect.

  • Calabria Bergamot is a classic, top-quality citrus cologne and unisex. I always wear it in summer and during the day; it’s perfect for the office because it smells soft and is noticeable only up close.

  • Calabria Bergamot is an exquisite classic citrus cologne of excellent quality, unisex. I normally wear it in summer and during the day, ideal for the office because its soft scent is only noticeable up close.

  • Its scent is enchanting: clean and fresh, but it’s more of a fresh water for after a shower; it does not last.

  • Smells very good, starting slightly bitter/acidic and dry, then becoming juicy and sweet with typical Aqua Allegoria nuances. It’s almost an impossible citrus to dislike. The problem is that after thirty minutes it turns into a skin scent. It happens with many citrus fragrances: they don’t disappear, but to smell them you have to press your nose right up against your skin. I used only two sprays, and this type of perfume works better with more. Knowing what you’re buying and if you catch it at a bargain, it’s not bad, but I already have similar ones.

Guerlain’s Bergamot is citrusy, aromatic, fresh, and with a spicy touch. The opening is delicious: semi-sweet, almost natural citrus notes with herbal and ginger undertones. After the initial burst, the sweetness drops and it becomes more musky and woody, yet the citrus and ginger remain clear. It’s for daytime wear, giving energy and a good vibe; I’ve loved it for weekends or when I want to relax. I was surprised by the longevity, lasting nearly ten hours despite being a citrus, though without leaving much of a trail, just a light breeze now and then. It’s totally unisex, recommended for men and women who enjoy citrus.

  • Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Bergamot is a fresh, slightly spiced aromatic citrus fragrance. Its opening is delicious with semi-sweet, almost natural citrus, accompanied by herbal and spiced notes, mainly ginger. After the initial phase, the sweetness fades into a more musky and woody stage, but the citrus and ginger remain crisp and perceptible. It’s mainly a daytime fragrance, the kind that brings energy and good vibes; I’ve liked it much for weekends or situations where I want to feel relaxed. In terms of longevity, it was very good; for a citrus, it accompanies me for nearly 10 hours, without leaving a strong trail, but without a doubt a light breeze remains eventually. It’s completely unisex, so I recommend it for men and women who enjoy citrus fragrances.

  • Sparkling and citrusy bergamot with just the right touch of sweetness at the start, followed by a spicy base of ginger and wood. A lovely, simple, unisex scent with moderate projection lasting about seven hours on my skin. I recognise the quality and citrus lovers will adore it, but it hasn’t won me over. Scent 5.5/10, Longevity 7/10, Projection 7/10, Value for money 6/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 9.5/10. Would I buy it again? No.

  • An exquisite citrus fragrance from Guerlain. For those of us who love citrus, especially lemon (my favourite is Dior’s Eau Sauvage), this Aqua Allegoria is a delight. Clearly unisex, I wear it and so does my mother. It lasts very little; here, you need to reapply quite often if you want it to stick around.

  • Luli Cherry

Smells like freshly cut lemon, but it fades in a flash; leaves no trace on the skin at all.

  • PURE BERGAMOT Follows the theme ‘this smells exactly like what it’s called’ of the Aqua Allegoria. And it is that: bergamot. I like it a lot, as I usually like all these fragrances for their quality. Although so far none kill me. It feels like a bergamot in the foreground mixed with green background notes, and way in the back, something extremely soft and almost imperceptible spicy note. The woody base notes are not felt at all. A lovely and quality bergamot, but no more than that.

What a fresh perfume. You can tell the ingredients are of high quality. It’s not a beast mode; but it’s so pleasant to wear. It gives that sensation of refreshing every moment you feel it. It’s a 10/10 leaving longevity aside (it doesn’t pass four hours). I recommend it totally.

  • LosPerfumesDeJavi

Of the entire Aqua Allegoria collection, this is the one I’ve liked the least so far. Although its scent is pleasant, its trail is non-existent; it’s like a cologne with no presence; you have to press your nose to your wrist to feel it, and its longevity is very short too, I’d say about four hours. We can find its scent in countless fragrances with better performance for less money; in Spain, the 125ml bottle costs approx. 59€. Sincerely, I don’t think this perfume is worth it. Definitely not for me.

  • Gian Arévalo

I love its crispness so much that I forget its poor longevity. And within the commercial or designer world, none have the note quality and minimalism of this one, perhaps Dior in terms of quality. Perfect for using on an extremely hot day when the sun beats down hard on the skin. Super refreshing, it makes you want to drink it. For a long time, no fragrance has caused me that impact, that impression and satisfaction; the last time was with Erba Pura just for its opening… As for the scent, for me it’s above the typical summer scents, DH cologne, DHS, VPH, Light Blue, etc., which feel very sharp and even remind me of car air fresheners or liquid soaps. Ideal for layering; a good example is using Givenchy Gentleman Cologne as a base; they make an excellent pair for a summer night. To highlight how much I like it, for me it’s above Bergamotto di Calabria.

  • nataliedrm

Fresh but leaning towards a more masculine scent. The bergamot is the only note felt for most of the time; after a while, upon drying down, a slightly woody note is perceived. But, beyond that, it passes without glory or shame. And for the heat, it simply doesn’t last at all.

  • A perfume marvel, delicious. It’s the combination of two fragrances everyone likes: at first, a lemon caramel very much in the style of Mancera’s Lemon, and upon drying down, CK One. I don’t think there’s anyone who wouldn’t like this perfume; it’s very enjoyable in hot weather. The longevity is appropriate for a quality citrus.

  • BeatrizBlackwood

A wonderful and elegant cologne; the bergamot is so realistic. I use these Aqua Allegoria scents before applying any eau de parfum from my collection. As the description says, it makes you want to drink it; it’s fresh and pleasant for hot days.

  • Gian Arévalo

I have a bottle saved, half-used, for over a year. The air has made it very long-lasting and projected, but also VERY SWEET. It remains a sparkling, vibrant citrus with that slightly woody, musky base that makes it linear; I LOVE that, it lacks those repulsive bases like ambroxan…

  • Marjo001.

My favourite fragrance; I bought it at the airport without knowing anything about it, and since then it’s been in my top tier. I adore it, it’s revitalising, a jet of freshness with exquisite bergamot. It smells like a refined person; I’ve received compliments because people are intrigued, it doesn’t smell like other perfumes… The only downside is it doesn’t last long on my skin 🙁

  • Lusungirl

It hits like a blast of full-strength lemon at first, making me wonder: is this it? Just a single citrus accord. But Guerlain never fails, and then it surprises you with something sweet, softening the acidity with a touch of ginger and cardamom, very pleasant. It’s a perfume that evolves, which I love, but I think you need to smell it in both stages to know if you’ll truly like it.
