  How handsome the narcissus is; a super light, floating flower yet with wood and body. With the citrus notes, it gets a bit rough. Sometimes the roughness annoys me, but not with Aura Maris. Its dryness is like dry ice, but not solid, rather firm. It reminds me of a tangerine, neither too acidic nor too sweet, freshly taken from the fridge and peeled segment by segment, revealing those typical elongated citrus structures. A little too firm, almost crisp. There’s also a very subtle anise note that recalls barbershop perfumes, but without the heaviness of thyme or absinthe. If you look very closely, you see that curious vintage masculine patchouli; you have to hold your nose to it for a while and many times, like in a stereogram. What I love is that it holds the citrus well without adding amber or heavy notes, and without becoming bland. It’s a restrained, harmonious burst of sunlight.
