The blend of notes reminds me of the smell of unburnt dry myrrh: it’s woody, subtly spicy and fresh earthy from the moss. There’s something smoky that evokes a bonfire in the forest, with cold touches soothed by a cup of black tea with cardamom. In my opinion it’s rough and dark, but strangely comforting like a wool coat on a cold day. I find it evocative and unisex. What I like about Maison Margiela Replica perfumes is that they define places and transport us; some do it better, but here I feel the autumn vibes are realistic, with a palette of terracotta, reddish, and dark brown tones. The atmospheric experience of Autumn Vibes has convinced me.

Which autumn are they referring to when they say it smells like this? The only autumnal thing is the colour of the bottle. I say this as someone who adores autumn. Autumn Vibes disappoints: it doesn’t smell of maple, nutmeg, or moss. It seems like a dupe of Santal 33. Names that don’t match the scent and I’ll never understand, Maison Margiela version: once again.
