About Havana Tonka
Havana Tonka: A Woody Oriental from Byredo with Tobacco and Tonka at its Core
From Byredo, Havana Tonka arrives as a 2026 woody oriental for women and men. Perfumer Fanny Bal is the nose behind the creation.
The fragrance sets a luminous spiced beginning against a mellow, comforting base, with tobacco and tonka bean providing continuity throughout.
Bergamot, rum and pink pepper form the top. The citrus feels crisp, the rum brings gentle liquorous depth, and pink pepper adds a delicate peppery sparkle.
Tobacco, violet, white suede and cashmere wood shape the heart. Tobacco is prominent, tempered by the soft powderiness of violet and the supple suede-wood backdrop.
Leather, tonka bean, patchouli, benzoin and musk make up the base. Amber, sweet and vanilla-like tones settle here, with patchouli adding earthiness and musk keeping the finish smooth.
The overall impression is woody, musky and warmly spiced, with sweetness held in check. Violet and suede lend a talc-like softness to the darker tobacco and leather elements.
Designed as a shared scent, it favours balance and texture over contrast, in keeping with Byredo's restrained aesthetic.
It should suit those drawn to tobacco-led orientals and to tonka, benzoin and musk bases lifted by violet and soft woods.
Havana Tonka traces a neat arc from brightness to powdery tobacco to sweet, ambery warmth. A coherent 2026 release from Byredo.
