I’m surprised it’s labelled as ‘floral’; I detect it more as oriental-floral. The blend is excellent, with iris and amber dominating from start to finish, though other notes add subtle nuances. For me, the opening is the best: an amber with talc and earth that shines between mentholated and citrus (orange) notes, alternating with resinous and honeyed touches. It’s exquisite, as if you took a piece of amber resin and let a ray of sun pass through it to watch it break down into different colours and scents. In the heart, it sweetens with vanilla and the iris leaves the earth for that classic makeup touch. There’s no clear transition to the dry-down, just two well-defined phases. Its vanilla and amber character could be cloying, but the low projection prevents this. The trail is subtle, only noticeable with air or movement. It lasts about 5-6 hours. If the opening lasted longer, it would be a wonder, but as it is, it may soon become boring.
