Descripción

Black Suede Leather by Avon is a leather fragrance for men. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by Loc Dong and Jean-Christophe Hérault. The top notes unfold with ginger, sage, and cactus; the heart reveals a woody bouquet featuring tobacco flower and macadamia; while the base notes anchor the structure with leather, amber, vetiver, and cedar.

  • Tip: for those close moments, take a shower with Axe Instinc gel and then apply Avon Suede Leather.

  • A truly lovely fragrance for her, with a wonderfully personal warmth. Reminds me of Valentino Uomo; it’s not a clone, but they share that sweet, creamy, woody character.

  • It’s a very pleasant aroma for a female audience, with lots of personal warmth. It reminds me of Valentino Uomo; I’m not saying it’s a dupe, but they’re of the same sweet, creamy, and woody style.

  • Good for the price, performs very well. It’s slightly sweet, I detect a sweet tobacco scent. It’s not a projection or trail bomb, but for a laughable price it’s worth it; it’s a casual fragrance for the day.

  • At first it smells of an old man, but once it settles on the skin it gains strength and becomes delicate, leaning towards suede. It’s a cheap, old-school masculine fragrance, one of the least unpleasant I’ve smelled from Avon.

  • Fresh opening due to the ginger and cactus, faithful to the style of the original BS. Then it becomes powdery with a suede note, more earthy and tender. My girlfriend presses her nose against my chest when I wear it; a very close scent, ideal for intimate encounters.

  • It has an excellent leather note combined with wood and amber, giving a surprising result for such an accessible price. A very good option to add to your collection if you like leather and well-worn suede.

  • Disappointing fragrance. The opening of sweet ginger, sage, and something powdery makes me think it’s a toy perfume: nothing virile, almost too safe for boys to wear. It projects a lot at a distance, possibly due to the ginger, reminding me of Azzaro Pour Homme. I don’t detect the leather or tobacco; the sweetness covers everything. That ginger note stays linear and boring throughout the life of the perfume. The projection is almost non-existent and the longevity doesn’t pass three hours. Being delicate is one thing, being weak is another: this falls into the latter. Both this Leather and the Touch (and perhaps the Dark) are light years away from the original, which projects well and lasts over six hours as a man. As I dislike being intrusive, I use a maximum of five sprays, but with this I have to overspray. At a price of five or six dollars it would be worth it if it compensated with quantity, but it doesn’t: it worsens the situation. The same happened with the Wild Country flankers. I’m from Argentina and these are manufactured here; perhaps they don’t use good essences or dilute them due to inflation. I regret such a negative note; I had high expectations for the leather and tobacco, hoping for something like the original Black Suede. Recreating leather is difficult and perfumers keep the secret under seven locks.

  • Disappointing fragrance from every angle. The weak opening of sweet sage ginger and something powdery makes me think it’s a toy scent: nothing virile and I almost dare to say it could be worn by boys for how harmless it is. From a distance possibly due to the ginger I detect a hint of Azzaro Pour Homme. I don’t sense the leather or I’d have to make a great mental effort because the sweetness of the perfume masks it. Forget about the tobacco: nothing of the sort. That ginger note isn’t unpleasant but it’s linear and boring persisting throughout the entire life of the fragrance. Projection is extremely scarce; I’m not bothered by the lack of it but the longevity barely passes three hours. For an aroma to be delicate doesn’t mean it should be weak. This fragrance falls into the second category. Both this Leather flanker and the Touch (and I believe the Dark will also be a flop as I tested a decanter) are light years away from the performance of the original which projects well and lasts over six hours on a man. My practice is to apply no more than five sprays to avoid being intrusive but with this and the other flankers I have to bombard myself. From the price which is risible (between five and six dollars) it would be worth it if the bombardment compensated for the weakness and dilution but it doesn’t: it worsens the situation. The same happened with the Wild Country flankers. I’m from Argentina and these Avon perfumes are manufactured here. It could be that they aren’t using high-quality essences or diluting them to keep the price down in this inflationary climate. I regret having to make such a negative assessment as I had high expectations after reading about the leather and tobacco; given that I own the original Black Suede I expected something similar in performance. I understand that recreating leather is difficult and perfumers who know how have the secret under lock and key.

  • Excellent fragrance extremely soft neither sharp nor brash but rather muted and rounded. It’s a creamy soft leather; although synthetic it’s unobtrusive and I believe it’s one of the best in the range. It has freshness and softness thanks to the sage and ginger with a subtle sweet base from the amber. It’s semi-formal seductive with the spirit of Bvlgari Man in Black. Although the notes aren’t identical they share that leather spiced sweet creamy and seductive soul. Ideal for a black shirt intimate moments or outings where you want to project mystery. On my skin it lasts four hours with a projection of 30cm during the first hour before settling close to the skin.

  • Super pleasant and soft scent, nothing sharp. It’s a creamy, rounded leather; although synthetic, it’s not unpleasant and I think it’s one of the best in the line. The sage and ginger add freshness, with a subtle sweet amber touch at the end. Ideal for a black shirt or intimate moments, projecting that seductive mystery of the Man in Black. On my skin it lasts four hours, with an initial projection of 30cm before settling close to the skin.
