  • I tried it today, what can I say? I miss the XS L’Exces. This one doesn’t resemble it in the opening, but in the heart and base notes it does. The issue is that it’s less persistent, much less. The other lasted days on clothes, this one barely a few hours. But if I miss it so much, it’s a good option.

  • It’s like having Black XS L’Excess in another bottle. Smelling it today, I got the scent of my old Black XS L’Excess. My daughter said it reminded her of mum, as I used to wear it years ago and she remembers it from when she was little. I can’t comment on longevity as I only sprayed once, but after 12 hours it still lingers. I regret not buying it when I tried it at a travel perfumery I never returned to… I hope to find you again, new love Black XS Black Excess…♥

  • Let’s say it’s my beloved Black XS L’Exces in another bottle. When I smelled it today for the first time, I thought I was smelling my dear B XS L’Exces. And an important detail for me: my daughter, upon smelling it, told me it reminded her of Mum (me), as I wore L’Exces for many years and she remembers it from when she was little. I can’t comment on the trail or longevity as they only sprayed it once on my arm, although 12 hours have passed and it’s still detectable right against my skin. I’m totally regretful for not buying it at that moment; I tested it in a perfumerie in a town I had to travel to for paperwork and I haven’t returned to that shop since… I hope to find you again, new love Black XS Black Excess…♥

My beloved Black XS L’Excess in a new format! I adore this fragrance. Rebellious, sweet, and nocturnal.

A powerful, sweet, nocturnal, and sensual opening; it has something addictive. Its powdery dry-down is delicious. I receive many compliments from the male gender. On my skin, black vanilla predominates. Good longevity and trail.

Powerful opening, sweet, nocturnal and sensual; it has something that makes it addictive. The dry down is a delicious talc-like scent. I receive many compliments from men. On my skin, black vanilla predominates. Good longevity and trail.

So delicious! I detect the red berries more than the cocoa, but the combination creates a delightful fragrance. I also perceive the woody touch.

The opening smells intensely of candied fruits, a spicy touch and very sweet, quite special. However, once it dries down, it feels like a fairly typical gourmand scent, similar to Rihanna’s Nude or Diesel’s Loverdose. Its longevity and trail are moderate.

  • This new version smells the same as the previous one, but its trail on my skin is non-existent and its longevity is poor. After three hours, I can barely smell it; literally, I have to press my nose against my skin to detect it, and that’s not something I like at all. I bought the 80ml bottle recently and it’s already half empty precisely for this reason, because I want to smell it! 🙁 The scent is delicious, but without a doubt, I prefer the first version. In fact, I already owned it and I’ll keep looking until I find it again!

I absolutely love its scent, but unfortunately, it doesn’t last. What a shame. I’d love to find something else with a similar aroma.

  • Basically smells of vanilla and wood on my skin. It’s super sensual and nocturnal. I don’t detect the cocoa, but it has that Euphoria vibe from CK, even though they don’t look alike; it just reminds me of that style. Very rich. Personally, it’s the first Paco Rabanne fragrance I’ve enjoyed. Generally, I don’t like their scents, but this one has made me fall in love.

  • I’m surprised some people talk about poor longevity. I put it on yesterday at 2 pm on my wrist, near the knuckles. Since then, I’ve bathed twice and washed my hands no fewer than eight times. It’s 5 pm the next day, and I still have the scent in its final notes where I applied it. It’s a sophisticated, noticeable, and attractive scent for any man. It’s worth remembering; it’s one of those fragrances that gets tattooed on the memory due to its pleasant aroma.

  • Very rich! Generally, I don’t like Paco Rabanne perfumes, but Black XS and Olympea Aqua were love at first sniff. The scent is fruity, juicy, dark, and woody; the wood gives it unisex and fresh touches, which is tremendously pleasant. I think I will buy it. Note: I’ve tested it several times in stores, and the notes on the Ripley website don’t match. I asked the perfumer if there was cocoa, and she said no. I didn’t detect any cocoa or patchouli, so I assume it has been reformulated. Here are the official notes from Ripley, Falabella, and Paris: Top blueberry, heart hellebore and black violet, base massoia wood. What I sensed were woods and fruits. It’s super for spring-summer and evening wear.

  • FlordeLis

I met this perfume many years ago because someone gifted it to me; I had the previous version. This one smells much sweeter and loses all its charm, as the woody notes barely stand out. I remember the original had very prominent pink pepper, was more woody, interesting, and less sweet than the current one. A real pity.

  • Reina Amigdala

There is nothing like it. It’s a beautiful, special perfume that borders on unisex. The opening is quite fruity and acidic, with blueberry and tamarind dominating. As it dries, the woods and cocoa appear, mixed with that fruit acidity. It’s not gourmand or smells like edible cocoa; it’s pure cocoa, as if freshly taken from the pod, more adult and sexy. Its performance is moderate.

  • muyfanaticadelos perfumes

Black XS is pure sensuality: it starts with a fruity opening that blends with woods as it dries. It’s sexy, feminine, and contemporary. It has a slight trail, very subtle, and lasts about 4 to 6 hours on the skin. Truly exquisite! I will undoubtedly buy it again.

  • I received it as a birthday gift. It’s a pleasant perfume with a rich scent; I detect red fruit, though not juicy. It lasted about six hours on my skin, which is fine for me (I have others that don’t last even two), although it doesn’t project much. Although I know there’s no age for perfumes, when I smell it, I don’t think of a young girl, but of a mature woman.

  • Does it resemble Black XS L’Excess much? It’s not the same. I undoubtedly prefer L’Excess, but it’s no longer available. Of this one, I say it’s less potent and long-lasting; I have it with my lotion, and when I use them together, it smells strong; people always ask if I’m wearing this perfume. If I hadn’t known the other version, I would only say good things, but it brings me nostalgia. I don’t know why they stop making perfumes, but I’m grateful at least this one exists. They are delicious scents; I doubt anyone would dislike them.

  • From the first spray of Black XS EDP, I liked it; it’s easy and versatile. Its charm lies in the sweetness of the berries: blueberry and tamarind make it juicy, fruity, and red—that quality is my favourite. With the roses and woods, it’s attractive, seductive, and mysterious. The downside is the dry-down; it becomes very masculine, the woods become more prominent, and perhaps the cocoa adds bitterness, making it heavy. Also, its projection fails; I need more than six sprays for it to linger, otherwise, I can’t smell it and it fades quickly. That’s why I wouldn’t buy it again; I’d like to try the EDT, but I can never find a tester.

  • I’m surprised they call it unisex; on me, it smells super feminine. It’s an incredible scent that I save for special occasions rather than daily wear—it’s exquisite. It has me hooked; it’s incredibly addictive. I detect the cocoa with that juicy vanilla and sandalwood… it’s a brilliant fragrance. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it, but do try it before purchasing.

  • No point. I’ve given it a thousand chances and I can’t stand it, nor the EDT version. Too masculine for me 😑 and an acidic, sweet, and stinging note that gives me nausea. I’ve shown it to many and none like it. I don’t understand the hype. One of my worst blind buys ☹️

  • No point. I’ve given it a thousand chances and I can’t handle it nor the EDT version. Too masculine for me and a sharp sweet-sour note that gives me nausea. No one has liked it. I don’t understand the hype. Among my worst blind buys.

  • This screams ‘fifty-year-old gentleman’. It’s very masculine, smelling like Axxe for men, but not of a sexy man, but of someone trying to hide their body odour with Axxe. The worst I’ve smelled in a long time.

  • rubykaiba

This screams ’50-year-old man’. It’s very masculine, smells like Axxe, but not to the sexy man, but to the bloke who wants to cover up sweat with Axxe. The worst I’ve smelled in a long time.

  • oliendobonito

It has me confused. I feel it’s very generic for what it costs. I bought it blindly for the tamarind. The cocoa balances the acidity, but it’s not gourmand nor sweet. It’s acidic tamarind, present but not memorable nor long-lasting. There are better options. The price doesn’t help either. It’s a ‘meh’ for me.

I love that such a dark and rare perfume has so many bad reviews, but I usually connect with the outsiders. It doesn’t disappoint me nor does it fade quickly (maybe I tested a magic tester), and after hours and washing, my opinion is good: it lasts and doesn’t ruin when dried. That some find it masculine… for you ladies is feminine only what’s sweet or floral? I don’t feel that way, even if it’s not the feminine cliché. Clarification: what suits one person, changes for another due to pH. Black XS has personality, it doesn’t smell like an expensive niche, but on me it’s an addictive magnet. It’s an androgynous, two-thousand-year-old, nocturnal vibe that you don’t define but miss. It’s vintage but fits the current woody trend, with a shy sweet touch that says: I’m dark but without slamming the door. I’m unisex and I scream feminine. The best part: I’m PR and I’m not the typical sweet one. If BXS were a person, it would be that geeky friend who gives hard truths but not hurtful ones. It’s elegant without seeming so (it should cost less for using synthetics). It reminds me of that discontinued Vampire’s Love from my adolescence. In short: don’t buy it :[_

  • I also had it and at first it smells fruity, but afterwards it leaves a totally unisex scent, leaning masculine. I don’t like it.

  • I had this one too; at first it smells fruity, but afterwards it leaves a unisex scent leaning towards masculine. I don’t like it.

Juicy, mysterious, sexy, and very feminine… It opens fruity and citrusy, but it’s just for an instant; afterwards, vanilla, cocoa, and sandalwood dominate. Sometimes violets are noticeable, that powdery touch, but mostly it’s a sweet, dark, and not cloying scent: sweet woody and feminine. For me, delicious. It’s nocturnal but doesn’t fail during the day; ideal for a sexy, powerful, and enigmatic woman. The performance is decent, not outstanding but worth it for the price: about 4 or 5 hours, with moderate trail but intense sillage close to the skin. A charm, recommended 100%.

  • It seems they’re going to discontinue it because I can’t find it in all shops or in large formats. It smells of berries, wood, and dark chocolate with its bitterness. I see it as unisex, sexy, and dark. The Pure and this share DNA, but the former is more commercial and sweet, while this is the rocker brother. I wish I had tried the discontinued ones. I love Paco Rabanne.

  • I bought it for the dark, sexy vibe everyone talks about. Upon application, you detect rose, cocoa, and vanilla; as it dries, it evolves into wood and sandalwood, achieving that unisex vibe without issues. It has good longevity and projection, but the pink pepper is annoying from the first spray: it’s spicy and unpleasant. I can’t stand it, I feel no one around will like it; you have to be very careful where and how you wear it.

  • I bought a decant and it smells extremely unisex. In my adolescence, with more unisex scents, I might have liked it, but now it’s a resounding NO for me, though I’ll give it to my boyfriend. As for trail and longevity, it seems bomb-like; I filled the room.

  • I tried a decant and confirmed it smells super unisex. In my teenage years, with more androgynous scents, I might have liked it, but now it’s a resounding NO for me; I’ll gift it to my boyfriend. The trail and longevity are bomb—I filled the whole room with this scent.
