The most distressing scent I’ve ever tried. Smelling Bluebell conjures up memories of things you were unfortunate enough to inhale in the eighties. It’s an outdated floral, acidic, waxy and artificial, like an air freshener spray mixed with nail varnish that gives you a headache. It has a sharp green, aldehydic note reminiscent of freshly disinfected bus toilets that utterly ruins your palate. Every time I brought it close, I felt like vomiting. The lily of the valley, usually sounding innocent, here mingles with the harshness of galbanum and an infuriatingly artificial hyacinth. It’s a very English floral, synthetic and rank; smelling it makes me think of people with bad teeth, silk blouses with ribbons, nail varnish and acetone. It’s an eighties thing, horribly British, Ropper-style, with very little chance of use today. I don’t know if it always smelled like this, but what I tried yesterday is something to gift your worst enemy. PS: I checked Fragrantica and most people agree with me.

To me, it smells of honey and cinnamon, with a bitter touch. I don’t detect the hyacinths or the bells, but I love it.
