I wore this as a teenager; it was a gift and I found it so warm, romantic, feminine yet mysterious. It’s a shame it’s not available in my country; it brings back wonderful memories of my transition from girl to woman, and I would definitely repurchase. It lingers on your skin just as much as in your memory… rich.
Little information provided but for years Cachet was a vintage myth and now that I own it I understand why. It’s an aromatic floral chypre with that 70s DNA; upon opening it recalls the original Miss Dior or Vivre by Molineux. It opens green creamy and aldehydic with galbanum and bergamot; up to that point nothing new for its generation. But as it settles an incredible vetiver vibrates from within one of the best tested. Aromatic bold and well-crafted with moss and musk in just the right balance adding richness. I must praise the nose: the notes interweave without disorder or disruption something hard to find nowadays. It has an animalic side yet not overwhelming; it was born for all women to wear and project something distinct. Slightly spiced and dampened with patchouli just enough not to overshadow that magnificent vetiver. The florals are there but Cachet prioritises the beauty of its woods and green mosses. And what of the leather? It’s not strident but adds complexity without standing out; here it’s clear the vetiver isn’t alone with something more robust behind that sharp green base hinting at its presence. It’s exquisite almost masculine in its sweet side yet so well-made with such realistic and exquisite materials that it’s for everyone and to be admired by all. Why assign gender to a vetiver or green moss like this? My review is of the vintage Eau de Toilette splash.
