Acordes principales
Descripción
Café Rose (2023) by Tom Ford is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2023, this composition features the olfactory signature of Antoine Lie. The top notes unfold an evocative combination of Turkish rose and coffee. The heart reveals a complex harmony of Bulgarian rose, patchouli, cardamom, coriander, and ylang-ylang. To finish, the base notes offer a warm and enveloping foundation of incense and sandalwood.

Strong opening, slightly masculine, but after two hours on the skin the dry down is nice but a joke for the price.
I’ll keep this brief as there’s nothing to highlight: I was gifted a sample after a purchase. After showering and moisturising, I decided to try it. Roses, roses and more roses… I applied it at 9pm and by 11pm there was no trail or longevity, only the first 30 minutes before total fade. Are they expecting me to spend over £150 on a rose water? Look at Britney, Jean Paul, Escada… they last longer or you can get them for £15. What a disappointment, please, for my taste. Yesterday I used another sample of Infusion de Prada and it lasted longer than this. My expectations with TOM FORD were low. Sorry chic@s, my humble opinion.
It just smells like unpleasant, chemical incense from start to finish. There’s even a note that makes my stomach turn. And to top it off, no trail and no longevity. 👎🏿
The coffee is only in the name. To me, it smells of a very potent rose room freshener that my mother used in the cupboards.
I’ve really liked it. I’ve always liked Black Orchid but found it too potent for everyday wear. This is quite similar but softened and more feminine. It’s discreet, people won’t stop you on the street asking what you’re wearing. Elegant and very pleasant for personal enjoyment.
Well, I liked it very much. I have always liked Black Orchid but found it too powerful for everyday wear. This is quite similar but more softened and feminine. It is discreet; people won’t stop you on the street to ask what you’re wearing. Elegant and very pleasant for personal enjoyment.
I’m sorry, but this is an absolute scam. Or perhaps I just didn’t get it because I didn’t like it at all. It seemed like a synthetic rose air freshener with a bit of incense, nothing more. Coffee? Just a poetic name, I suppose. Little trail and longevity. I even felt it was slightly vintage. You go to your local Chinese shop, buy a liquid rose air freshener, spray it on and tell people you’re using this fragrance and you save a fortune.
This is an absolute rip-off or simply I didn’t understand it. It seemed like a synthetic rose room freshener with a hint of incense. Coffee? Just poetry in the name. Little sillage and longevity. I even felt it was slightly vintage. You go to your local chemist, buy a liquid rose room freshener, and save a fortune.
The longevity is terrible and the coffee is not noticeable. The only redeeming feature is the quality and the vintage aroma. I bought the perfume and regret the price. Quality 6, longevity 5, projection 6, sillage 6.
A demonstrator in the shopping centre applied it to me and it wasn’t spectacular, but I wanted to see its evolution. It turns out to be such a simple rose scent that there’s no time to see its development, and the coffee never appears. It’s disrespectful to charge so much for something of low quality. It will be sold only on April Fool’s Day.
It smells good, but the longevity is terrible; the coffee isn’t noticeable; the only redeeming feature is the quality and above all the vintage aroma. I bought it and I regret the price. Quality 6, Longevity 5, Projection 6, Sillage 6.
It smells good and is a nice signature fragrance that evolves. On the neck, it recalls the notes of Jour Absolu by Hermès, that floral-with-citrus sensation. At a distance, on the wrist, it reminds me of Oud Satin Mood by MFK, very subdued. I like it, honestly.
It seems too expensive for its longevity. I never found the coffee, but it is ideal for daily wear.
I don’t detect any coffee; it smells of pure rose and projects massively. If I wear too much, it overwhelms me. I do like it because it brings back memories, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Despite my age and a life conditioned by scents, I like Café Rose. I can distinguish the coffee and feel it on my skin for hours, something other fragrances fail to achieve in my case. It’s not out of narcissism, but because I see the general trend is contrary to my perception. It reminds me very much of Black Orchid but more subtle. I bought it and would buy it again.
Café Rose promises a unique fusion of dark coffee and timeless rose. My expectations, raised by my neighbour José’s collection, were for something bohemian and sophisticated, à la Tom Ford. However, the rose dominates from the first spray, intense and deep, drowning out the other notes. The coffee is there, but as a whisper in the shadows, while the incense and sandalwood soften the dry-down. It lasts 8-10 hours and projects well, but if you seek a balance between floral and dark notes, a decant might be a better option. Ideal for lovers of intense rose, though it may be too much for others.
I’ve just arrived in this world despite my age and a life conditioned by scents. And yet, I like it. I can distinguish the coffee. It lasts on my skin. I’m emphasising myself, not out of narcissism, but because I see the general trend is contrary to what I perceive. My skin doesn’t tolerate everything; fragrances others say last hours don’t stay on me, but Café Rose I can smell for hours. As @Macamen says, it reminds me a lot of Black Orchid but more subtle. I bought it and I’d buy it again.
I tried this perfume by chance and fell in love. I know many people find it flat and not complex, but I think that’s where the beauty lies. For me, the coffee and rose scent also predominates. Undoubtedly, the rose has more presence, but believe me, the coffee is noticeable and a lot so. It’s simple, but the cardamom and patchouli give it a vibrant, playful touch. It’s the next perfume I’ll add to my collection.
I tried this perfume the other day by chance and fell in love. I know many people find it flat and not complex, but I think that’s where the beauty lies. For me, the coffee and rose scent dominates. There’s no doubt the rose has more presence, but believe me, the coffee is noticeable and strong. It’s simple, but the cardamom and patchouli give it a vibrant, playful touch. Personally, it’s the next one I’ll add to my collection.
I tried it on a blotter and didn’t dare wear it on my skin. It’s rich, it ‘hooks’ you and invites you to smell it; but I wouldn’t wear it. It’s like that avant-garde fashion piece that might be a real style statement, but you wouldn’t wear it out because it doesn’t fit anything in your everyday life. The rose is very predominant, but a mature rose (like that one you leave to wilt in a book); there’s also a lot of incense, patchouli and sandalwood. The coffee almost didn’t exist. If I had spare money, I’d buy it just to smell it alone, perhaps once a year.
I tested it on blotting paper, I didn’t feel brave enough to spray it on my skin. It’s rich, it ‘hooks’ you, it invites you to smell and smell it; but I wouldn’t wear it. It’s like that avant-garde fashion runway clothing that might be a great style statement, but you wouldn’t wear it out on the street for fun because it doesn’t fit anything you do (going to work, having a coffee, exercising, shopping or going to a concert). Maybe it’s a matter of daring; the thing with perfumery is that what you wear inevitably affects others (at least those within half a metre). The rose dominates hugely, but it’s a mature rose (like the one you leave to wither in a book for years); you also smell a lot of incense, patchouli and sandalwood. The coffee is almost non-existent. If I had spare money, I’d buy it just to smell it alone, and I’d perhaps wear it once a year to see how the surroundings react.
It opens with a juicy, fairly natural rose. Then it evolves a bit towards the smell of my grandmother’s wardrobe, not as much as other roses, but I still find it too vintage. As another review says, the coffee is only in the title. A fragrance disappointment.
It results in a very hypnotic aroma, but I wouldn’t wear it; I wouldn’t want to smell like this. It feels like a juicy rose surrounded by spices, as if wrapped in incense. It’s a very mature scent, with the rose being very predominant. I couldn’t detect the coffee, but I did smell the patchouli and incense, which give a dark aura to that very prominent rose.

I’ve just finished wearing this fragrance, which was undoubtedly one of my favourites. The scent is heavy and not for everyone: it starts with a juicy rose that evolves into a rose with incense and spices. It has plenty of character. I was complimented greatly; at no point did I perceive an ‘old lady’ scent, I think it’s a matter of wearing it with confidence. As for the coffee note… I didn’t sense it either, but I’m not bothered by the dominance of those roses. The longevity was excellent, lasting an average of 10-12 hours on me.
I bought this fragrance blindly based on the name: Roses and Coffee, two of my favourite notes. Nothing could go wrong, but it did. No news of the coffee; I didn’t perceive it at any point. The rose isn’t dense but is quite spiced; it’s not the typical rose and patchouli aroma; on my skin, I sense a musky rose. I keep trying to wear it but can’t see the occasion. I’ll probably sell or exchange it. If you’re from Argentina and are thinking of buying it, write to me.
Tom Ford’s Café Rosé is a delight on the skin, but my disappointment lies in its incredibly weak trail and poor longevity on my skin and clothes; I had to apply moisturising oil beforehand to make it last, which allowed me to enjoy the warm, elegant scent of rose, frankincense and wood. I never detected the coffee, and if it were there, it would feel like a decaffeinated version, which is disappointing for the price. It lacks its own personality to be a signature scent and is more suited for everyday wear. Invest in something else like Rose Prick or Black Orchid if you want real longevity.
The opening is abrupt. At first, I thought: could this not be a masculine fragrance? But then the magic begins. Over a fresh rose, spices and some very suggestive coffee notes play out. Over time, it becomes softer, more insinuating, tender and sensual. It’s beautiful. I’m glad to have it in my collection. The longevity is good and the trail is moderate, but very pleasant.
It smells like an antique shop. The rosehip dominates over the actual rose, and I can’t detect the coffee at all, though I do smell patchouli. If you’re looking for a straightforward rose and coffee blend, save your money and buy Jo Malone’s Tarif Rose instead. This isn’t fresh or green; it’s a bouquet of roses with a soft, warm coffee base.
I felt the rose overwhelmed the coffee in an exaggerated way.
