I picked up this gem last week and it is pure gourmand. You can smell it before even opening the box: caramel takes centre stage, with a cinnamon that tickles the nose and sweet vanilla. It starts with citrus notes, but as it dries down, milk emerges, turning it into an edible dessert like arroz con leche with cinnamon and vanilla. It is creamy, sweet and milky, perfect for chilly days. The only downside is I didn’t expect something so innocent to cost so much, so I’m left with just a few millilitres. The longevity is beastly; it fills the whole house, and if you spritz it on your clothes, it smells like Crema di latte for three days. Better suited to fresh or cold climates; in heat the caramel can become intense and unpleasant. Use it in moderation to avoid being cloying. If you enjoy gourmands and milk scents, it is a curious aroma you must try.
