About Croc
Anfar 1950's Croc: a Modern Woody Oriental for Men
Croc from Anfar 1950 sits in the woody oriental family for men. A 2026 introduction, it carries the signature of perfumer Jean-Christophe Hérault.
Rather than leaning fully dark, it sets spiced freshness against an ambery foundation, with raspberry and bergamot brightening the opening before the woods take charge.
At the top are akigalawood, raspberry, bergamot and amber. The citrus gives lift, the berry a juicy flavour, while the peppery wood and amber establish the oriental character early on.
Through the middle, woody notes are paired with basil and vetiver. The basil lends a green, aromatic edge, while vetiver contributes a dry, earthy backbone.
The base organises sandalwood, Timur pepper, ambroxan, patchouli and musk. Sandalwood softens, Timur pepper brings lively warmth, and ambroxan alongside musk forms a tidy, ambery trail.
In terms of accords, woody, fresh spicy and amber lead, supported by aromatic, musky and citrus elements. Warm spice, powdery softness, patchouli and a fruity undercurrent complete the picture.
It should suit those who favour neat, present-day woody orientals for men, favouring a measured balance of citrus, herbs and creamy woods.
In the 2026 line-up, Croc reads as a tidy, masculine woody oriental: a clear path from raspberry-bergamot brightness to sandalwood-musk ease, shaped by Hérault.
