Dot by Marc Jacobs is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb. At first, it smells fruity, and towards the end, it has a certain resemblance to Ralph Rocks.
I’m not very good at describing it, but the opening is soft and fruity, with a hint of vanilla and jasmine. I think it’s lovely for spring and also for daily winter wear. I wore it today and loved it with the cold air; it’s a great addition to any wardrobe, so I recommend it.
Smells delicious, lasts forever, and the bottle is adorable. The scent doesn’t change over time, which I hate.
It smells lovely, lasts a long time, and the bottle is a real treat. The scent doesn’t change over time, which I hate.
I detect watermelon and coconut in it. Call me crazy, could it be dragon fruit? 😮
Smells like watermelon and coconut, I’m crazy! Could it be the dragon fruit? 😮
Super soapy, fresh, and fruity. When I smell it, I feel like I’m walking into an incredibly clean place (I don’t know why, haha). I love it completely. For me, it’s a 10.
In the top notes, it smells quite a bit like Escada’s Born in Paradise (thanks to that watermelon and coconut blend). It has very little sillage despite being an eau de parfum, and on my skin it lasts about four hours.
Although the bottle is gorgeous, the fragrance doesn’t quite convince me due to its poor longevity. This happens with all of Marc Jacobs’ scents: they’re delicious at first, but they fade very quickly, at least on my skin.
It’s strange; the only downside is that it doesn’t last long.
It’s a very rich, fruity scent, for personal enjoyment, and it lasts around five hours on me; it’s very fresh.
The bottle is beautiful, but the scent is nothing special; it smells nice but isn’t anything extraordinary. The sad part is that it doesn’t last at all; perhaps it’s my skin, but at least the two Marc Jacobs I own (Dot and Honey) don’t last on me. Lovely bottles, poor fragrances.
I confess I bought it for the gorgeous bottle, not the scent. DOT is very simple, pretty on its own, youthful, and more fruity than floral. It smells of red berries with dragon fruit (a cactus), a touch of acidity, shy jasmine and orange blossoms that soon disappear before the intense red berry note, with a hint of wood at the base. I detect nothing else. It fits a young girl perfectly; it’s fresh and that acidity adds freshness. The trail and longevity are moderate to low. The good thing is it’s very versatile.
I admit I bought it for the beauty of the bottle, not for the fragrance. I have little to say about DOT as it’s a very simple perfume, nice on its own, youthful and more fruity than floral. It smells of red berries with dragon fruit, a cactus fruit, with a slight acidic touch, with very timid jasmine and orange blossoms that are soon overwhelmed by the intense smell of the red berries, and very in the background, something of wood is felt. I don’t perceive any other note. It would fit very well on a young girl; it’s fresh, and the acidity of the berries gives it that freshness. The trail and longevity range from moderate to low. A plus is that I consider it very versatile.
I loved it! It seemed like a refined, youthful perfume and nothing heavy, ideal for summer because it’s fresh. It lasts about six hours approximately. I liked it!
A super youthful and fresh perfume. It has an acceptable duration on my skin. I love the inventiveness of its packaging, like all Marc Jacobs bottles. It seems strange, but I can detect a melon trail that I adore. It shines in warm seasons; I’d even dare to say it’s suitable for summer evenings.
I love its scent and, of course, its beautiful packaging, but I think it’s too expensive for how synthetic it smells. That doesn’t mean it’s bad or that I hate it, not at all! But I also don’t think it’s worth the price. It’s a fairly pleasant fruity scent; at times it reminds me of a much sweeter, coquettish sister of Cacharel’s sexy Amor Amor. Its longevity on my skin is surprising: it’s still perceptible after my shower! I recommend it, although I admit it is a bit synthetic, and therefore its price is high for what it is.
Without a doubt, the first thing that strikes you is the bottle; you’d be tempted to buy it just for decoration. The fragrance is sparkling, fruity and fresh. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on my skin, but the aroma is very pleasant.
It’s youthful, fruity and very similar to DKNY Red Apple; overall, it’s a casual essence.
At first, the bottle looked very ugly to me, but upon closer inspection, I realised it looks very well; the little cat face is quite cute. As for the scent, it’s a fruity fragrance, somewhat fresh, very basic, simple and linear: I only noticed the red berries and to some extent the dragon fruit; the vanilla barely left a trace. The longevity is rather poor (on my skin it lasted between 2 and 3 hours) and the trail is very low.
At first, I thought the bottle looked ugly, but upon closer inspection, I see it has its charm. The bottle design is quite cute. As for the scent, it’s fruity, slightly fresh, very basic and linear; I only detect red berries and a hint of dragon fruit, while the vanilla barely leaves a trace. The longevity is poor, lasting only two or three hours on my skin, and the trail is quite weak.
I gifted this to my mother, but after a year of neglect because it didn’t suit her, she passed it to me, and it hasn’t convinced me either. It’s not a sophisticated fragrance at all; it comes across as rather bland.
I gave it to my mother and she used it a year on very few occasions because she didn’t like it. Then she gave it to me and I don’t like it either; it’s a fragrance that has nothing sophisticated about it, it’s bland.
Fresh perfume, beyond being linear, its aroma is enjoyable, sparkling and rich. For all ages? Yes, but not for all occasions. For mature women perhaps after a bath on hot days when she needs to feel fresh and smell nice. For young girls, it adapts to any occasion, very versatile night or day. Formal? No, it’s not a formal perfume. On me it lasts moderately, a touch-up in about five hours, but its trail is so pleasant that it allows you to enjoy it and lets others enjoy it too.
I bought it basically for the bottle. I thought something so beautiful and elaborate couldn’t have anything unpleasant. In reality, it’s absolutely innocuous. On me, the wood note stands out, weakly the coconut, and finally a tattered jasmine. On my skin, it lasts about two hours and the trail is almost non-existent. A bottle like that should contain a complex, rich and potent perfume, but it doesn’t. It contains a very faint after-bath. It’s for a morning when you want to go unnoticed. I think I have better-performing pharmacy boy colognes and more elaborate fragrances. For me, it’s a lovely table ornament.
I’ll be as honest as possible: this perfume smells like Avon’s Exotic Water. Nothing more, nothing less… To me, it smells like huapinol, that fruit found in Honduras. But it’s identical to the Avon. It lasts nothing, it’s designer and doesn’t project, pure talk.
Dot by Marc Jacobs feels very fresh to me, a semi-aquatic apple vibe, similar to DKNY’s Be Delicious (but with a very subtle marine note of calone that I can perceive). I dare say it distorts the composition (I evaluated it on a blotter); perhaps on skin it yields another result. Of all the fragrances in the collection, this is the one I like the least.
As a perfume, it’s a lovely ornament. Fruity, soft, common and youthful (too much).
It’s a fruity, floral and musky EDT, like a soft eau de cologne. It lasts nothing, too soft, almost a cologne. But it’s youthful and very nice.
On my skin, it smells of apple with a bit of coconut, and I don’t like that ☹️. I thought the apple would be the main note according to the descriptions, but it isn’t. I love the bottle, which is why I keep it; it looks very pretty, but that apple juice smell is utterly unappealing to me.
Dot is cheerful, coquettish and feminine, perfect for those who enjoy playful fragrances with a tropical air. The opening is sparkling and fun: the red berries give a juicy fruity sweetness, the dragon fruit an exotic touch, and the jasmine highlights the fresh floral side. In the heart, it becomes creamier and more sensual thanks to the coconut, which blends with jasmine and orange blossom to create a luminous, summery bouquet. The base is soft and warm: sweet vanilla, musk and driftwood for a clean, slightly woody finish. It’s fun, fresh, feminine and tropical. Ideal for spring and summer, for everyday wear or a casual night out where you want something cheerful and charming.
I only detected flowers. I’m a fan of sweet gourmands and have some fruity ones for hot days, but I bought this blind and was hugely disappointed. It doesn’t smell bad, but on my skin, I just sense flowers. The worst part is that the coquettish bottle has changed and now only has a flimsy cap. I’ll try it in intense heat to see if I like it a little more.

Dot is super optimistic, clearly Honey’s sibling with that same DNA. It’s like an upgraded version of Oh Lola! A fruity scent with aquatic touches, reminiscent of watermelon, likely due to the dragon fruit and red berries. Soft and perfect for spring and summer. The red berries seem like a sweet, juicy punch, and with the dragon fruit, it becomes an appetising cocktail. It reminds me of the smell of a grenadine and mango cocktail, but without the alcoholic kick. The bottle has changed a bit; the cap is no longer so large or winged, but it looks stunning on the shelf thanks to its distinctive ladybug red stopper.
