Well, tried today on my wrist. It’s really a harmless cologne, almost childish with a very classic touch. It doesn’t offer an innovative aroma. On my skin it’s neroli and more neroli with a bit of vetiver that gives it unisex fixations but leans more towards the feminine side, but it looks good on both sexes anyway. The fixations aren’t bad but they’re not rocket science either. For those who want to wear a kind aroma with innocent touches. I still think Demachy isn’t a bad perfumer but certainly, in this case, he hasn’t shone nor has he created a distinctive fragrance. Current perfume politics: the oven isn’t ready for buns. So better not to risk with groundbreaking scents that create trends. And that goes for all perfume houses, celebrities and designers.
Good heavens, this is a disaster. A joke and a disappointment. Neroli with a hint of orange blossom and lemon. Longevity and sillage are much weaker than Nenuco. Nenuco is far more recommended in terms of performance and price if you like this scent.
Good heavens… This is rubbish. A joke and a mess. Neroli with a bit of neroli and lemon. Duration and trail quite lower than Nenuco. Much more recommended Nenuco in performance and price for those who like the scent.
Personally, I loved this fragrance… I never imagined that what seemed to be a simple perfumed water could have such excellent performance on my skin. Its aromatic characteristics of an eau de senteur with eau de parfum skill have surprised me. I applied it at 4pm and now it’s 9pm and its trail still lasts, the best of all is its aroma as it brings old reminiscences between vintage colognes and baby lotion, innocent, fresh, classic, slightly talc-like where neroli flower, bergamot, neroli and white musk predominate. Some may disagree with me, but according to my perception it’s a great achievement by Francois Demachy in evoking a simple aroma in quality content. It has now become my morning fragrance for work hours. It reminded me of the current Eau de Courrèges version.
I’m not one for citrus perfumes but this Eau has really won me over. It’s an ideal scent to wear when you don’t want to feel too heavy, for a context where you don’t go unnoticed but also don’t draw too much attention with your perfume. It opens with a humid, sharply citrusy aroma, but to my surprise it has an incredible evolution, changing over the hours and becoming sweeter. I clearly smell the Neroli, bergamot, neroli flower, cedar and vetiver. I don’t think it’s a children’s cologne in any sense, let alone baby cologne as written. I like that it has an acceptable duration, a minimalist bottle and that it’s always at a good price. It’s really worth having it as a quiet option but with presence.
I’m not usually a fan of citrus perfumes, but this Eau has won me over. Perfect for not feeling overpowered: present without drawing too much attention. It opens fresh and citrusy but evolves incredibly sweetly over time. You can detect the neroli, bergamot, orange blossom, cedar and vetiver. Nothing like a childish cologne. Acceptable longevity, minimalist bottle and good value. Worth it as a calm yet noticeable option.
It’s a good scent… but as a cologne, just like with Gentleman Cologne, it’s pleasant, but the price isn’t justified. I think there are few colognes (EDC) that can justify such prices, as Drakecito says, there are fresh waters for €10 that perform just as well. Examples of colognes come to mind: Acqua di Parma, which uses very natural ingredients, or Atelier, where the ‘cologne’ nomenclature is just marketing as they use high concentrations. Other brands should take care of those terms and the prices they charge.
It has its thing, but yes, it definitely smells like a cologne for children. It’s very similar to Nenuco/Neroli Portofino.. XD My wife says it smells like Royale Ambrée… It opens with very indistinct citrus notes, to which a very subtle green touch is added. The dry-down improves (in my opinion) with a more pronounced floral aspect, with a note of ‘supposed’ neroli. The latter gives it a very interesting sweet/floral tone. I really liked this part. The trail is always low and the longevity is surprisingly good, working especially well on clothes, where I can smell it after 20 hours. I see it as more feminine and childish than masculine, although I can wear it perfectly (this is very subjective). I wouldn’t lie if I said I liked it, although the problem is always the same. The quality of the essences doesn’t feel very high and the price is excessive. Years ago we could find colognes of this same quality for less than €10. But anyway, worse is Frederic Malle with his Cologne Indelébile. P.S.: The great master Demachy has discovered gunpowder with this… XD
Starts with citrus notes of orange blossom and neroli, then dries down to a herbal finish… Long live citrus! Fresh, unisex, herbal, rich, spring-like and youthful. Longevity 8, projection 9.
It opens with a citrusy, dry and herbal neroli… and long live citrus!!! Fresh… Unisex… Herbal… Rich… Spring-like… Youthful… Fixation 8, projection 9.
Honestly, this is the last time I’ll buy blind. Anyway, I picked it up on sale, so I suppose I can’t complain too much. It smells exactly like baby cologne. I think buying Agua Fresca de Azahar by Adolfo Domínguez (it’s very, very similar) would give better results, in terms of price and longevity, by far!!. This Givenchy water doesn’t last at all, even if you reapply frequently.
The fresh version of Givenchy. Pretty, fresh and easygoing with petit grain and neroli. It doesn’t fill the room as much as Dior’s Portofino, but it has that ‘small’ touch ideal for baby clothes.
