Eau de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermès

What can you say if it smells like nothing? It tastes like watery lemonade, very flat, and lasts less than 2 hours. It’s only suitable for layering; it doesn’t even scent clothes or the house well. Use it to smell nice on a hot day or after a shower, but no one will notice unless they press their nose right against you. Very high price for what it offers. 3/10.

It doesn’t last long, but the citrus, green, and rose blend is very realistic, like smelling citrus, grapefruit, and lemon with rose oil and stems. It’s relaxing, although it has poor projection and is purely for personal wear. I hope for more heat to enjoy it to the full.

I tried a decant and liked it, but the opening smells like citronella or mosquito repellent 🥴.

Hermès’ orchard elevates its game with fruity and vegetable formulas that are beautiful, potent, and refreshingly direct. They capture the zesty freshness of a juicy, vitamin-packed grapefruit waiting to be bitten into. The florals are merely there to decorate and enhance the grapefruit. That clean, minimalist, conceptual balance that Ellena handles so masterfully is present in all these compositions, always crisp and clear. There is no doubt about which fruit, spice, or vegetable takes the lead. While they are highly naturalistic, they are equally beautiful and ideal. These formulas allow no middle ground: either you understand and adore them, or you don’t. Minimalist scents by Ellena. Edit: perfect for layering with other perfumes or for playing at being a perfumer.

Review of the Concentrée version in EDT format. It’s a classic, very refreshing and well-made cologne, despite its simplicity. The grapefruit feels very natural and realistic, something difficult to find these days. It opens with standout citrus highlighting the grapefruit, then blends with a less noticeable rose. It’s pleasant, although perhaps it suffers from an excess of simplicity. Decent price, and thanks to Hermès for moving away from current trends. It lasted quite well for me (over 6 hours) when applied generously and on clothes, but the sillage is always skin-close, difficult to smell from a distance.

Another Hermes fragrance that rates as a cologne to me. It’s a very refreshing scent that I love. Pure grapefruit, with a hint of rose, is what I can identify. Unfortunately, its longevity and trail are very short for its high price. In my opinion, it’s a more masculine scent, for summer and daytime. It’s worth trying (and buying) if possible.

It’s pure grapefruit, just as the name suggests. Imagine being inside a giant pomelo: bitter, tart, and super refreshing. Everything is great until… poof! The trail disappears, leaving only a skin scent clinging to the body for about three hours. The projection is short at first. Why, Hermes? Why does something so good last so little if it’s so expensive?

What a delight! I’m ecstatic with its freshness. I can’t believe it has only three notes: grapefruit, orange, and rose. It has a lot in common with Dior Homme Sport (2008) regarding the grapefruit, but this Les Colognes Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose is much wilder, simpler, and rawer. One should also count the Petit Grain, those citrus leaves. You can feel the rose, but it’s not the protagonist. It’s ideal for a trip to the Caribbean islands, dressed in white and khaki, wearing bermudas, sipping a tropical cocktail, and strolling through the port streets and boulevards (well, those who have been to those islands know what I mean). For over 35s. It could be unisex, though I feel it’s more masculine. In summary: it’s a wild citrus. If you don’t like it, pass; if you do, you’ll love it. Exquisite to the superlative degree. A good salesperson would say: smell it and buy it. hehe
