Vetiver Pamplemousse by Zara

Starts with a burst of grapefruit and tangerine that dominates the entire scent, so strong one wonders when a man (or perhaps not even a woman) wants to smell so overtly fruity. It’s fresh and sparkling, yet it vanishes in the blink of an eye; after fifteen minutes, the trail is gone. Still, I adore it, though not for going out. I use it for personal pleasure, especially to scent the sheets before bed. In that context, it’s perfect: relaxing and refreshing.

At first, it feels like peeling a tangerine and a grapefruit, then it leaves a scent reminiscent of a spa, clean and relaxing. I bought it without a second thought, regardless of whether it lasts long or short; for a citrus, it has a normal longevity and lingers on clothes for quite some time. I love it as a personal treat.

As many said, it smells of pure grapefruit. It’s one of the few perfumes that makes you happy to wear at 40 degrees; it refreshes and fills you with energy.

It’s wonderful, it smells like squeezing the peel of a sweet orange, without being overwhelming; it makes you want to apply it and smell it, it’s addictive. The downside is it has little projection, almost none. On my skin it lasts 6 to 8 hours. It’s a perfume for you, for your joy and enjoyment. If you’re looking for a bomb that projects, this isn’t it, but if you want something delicious, simple, and that never gets old in your collection, this is the one.

It’s pure vetiver, very fresh, but not for every palate. Suitable for variable weather.

It’s a grapefruit cologne. I consider it doesn’t have the stamp of an EDP; it’s a simple cologne. It doesn’t smell bad, but for me, it’s very indifferent. In this style, I prefer the Elizabeth Arden EDTs from the Green Tea line.

I discovered it just last summer when I started eating oranges, drawn in by the scent. I smelled it accidentally in Zara’s men’s fragrance section and bought it without a second thought. I love wearing it in the morning after a shower on a sunny day when I want to smell something simple and natural that screams orange. It puts me in a good mood and gives me the energy to start the day.

I’m reviewing several scents from a discovery set I bought at Zara and was keen to review this one. Of the three citrus bombs in the collection, it’s the only one I could praise enough to decide to buy. Smelling it directly from the bottle made me feel scared; suddenly, the smell of unfiltered orange Fanta came to mind. But on skin, it’s a different story: it doesn’t smell like orange; I really notice the acidity of an extremely realistic grapefruit, very well balanced with the sweetness of the mandarin, a fresh and dry scent. I still don’t notice the EDP format; for me, it’s more of a fresh water but I don’t need more; when I’m looking for such a citrusy scent, I’m looking for this level of softness and trail. It seems elegant, perfect for a shower after a day at the beach. Of the citrus scents from Jo Malone for Zara I’ve tried (Fleur d’Oranger and Amalfi Sunray), without a doubt, this one wins the prize for good taste. I like it.

Delicious scent. An exquisite grapefruit that persists throughout the life of the fragrance, although I must say it’s too fleeting. It’s true that up close it can be perceived for about 4 or 5 hours, but with your nose right against it. It doesn’t give me more than two hours in a decent way, which is a pity because its scent is one of the richest and most realistic citrus scents I’ve tried. I generally use it on summer Sundays in the morning after a shower to refresh and energise myself, but it goes completely unnoticed by the rest of people.

Minimalist in its purest form. As should be understood from the Emotions collection that Zara presents, they are more for personal enjoyment in your individual space than for the world to smell, because their projection is low and their longevity too. It’s a sharp opening of grapefruit that quickly dries down to reveal that slightly bitter mandarin, which is what I feel most in its dry down, with that vetiver blend that adds softness and creaminess. For after a shower, for going to the grocery store, for whenever you really want, because it’s a mood booster that its scent delivers to me.

I absolutely love it! A real energy and vitality boost thanks to that brilliantly crafted grapefruit. It has a cheerful vibe, reminiscent of Clinique HAPPY (though it doesn’t compete with it), but in my opinion, it’s far superior. It smells clean and fresh, suits any age, and is ideal for hot days. The longevity exceeds six hours; I’m not an expert on sillage, but with just three sprays, I get lovely bursts of scent.

Its scent is that of freshly cut tangerines (grapefruit). It’s impressive that they have managed to capture the aromas of this fruit in a bottle so realistically. However, its behaviour is that of a cologne: very fresh for the first few minutes, almost imperceptible during the next hour, and no trace after two. Very similar to Eau Universelle by L’Occitane. As an olfactory experience it’s worth it, but not as a fragrance for the day.

A few days ago I ordered four perfumes from Zara Emotions online; the combination of Zara and Jo Malone seemed super interesting to me, and I wanted to try several. Vetiver Pamplemousse seems fantastic to me: it’s super fresh, as if you’re cutting a fresh grapefruit. Of the four I bought, this is the one I liked the most. Perfect for hot days.

It’s unbelievable, but of the few Zara fragrances I own, thanks to a set my girlfriend gifted me, none have disappointed me in the slightest; the previous ones considered their prices and volume. I bought this because, as usual, it was on offer (the discount wasn’t huge, but something is something). The first time I sprayed it, it was a pleasant sensation of squeezing an orange peel, with its oils pouring out through the pores of its own skin, before giving way to a less potent scent, that is, the tangerine. The bitterness (a rich, edible, juicy bitterness) of the first note is what, in my opinion, gives it a more masculine than unisex touch, but in no way excludes feminine skin. The vetiver the brand declares is quite scant, but in some way injects that slightly earthy freshness so it lasts a bit longer on skin. I find it interesting that compa @drakecito, in many reviews, mentions having smelled and/or found better and cheaper fragrances. I’d like to know which ones they are, so we could all save some quid and enjoy what he considers superior… he must have a bloodhound’s nose to appreciate even the slightest line of scent within fragrances. Anyway: purely personal opinions. In my judgment, it has good projection and longevity: I repeat, considering its price. In summary: another one, but a very acceptable Zara fragrance.
