Finally, I have it! I already owned all of Rihanna’s perfumes and was delighted to see her return, as I adore them all and this is no exception. Previously, when they didn’t ship to my country, I searched for scents similar to Fenty; the closest match is Rose Jam, but it’s not quite the same. I’ve smelled many roses, but none like this. The protagonists are rose and blackberry: it opens with a natural, fresh rose, then the blackberry emerges, giving a medicinal, acidic, and fruity twist, without being a purely fruity perfume. It also has a spiced note, like roses with wood or oud, but doesn’t go that far. Over time, the rose fades, leaving the scent of sweet blackberries with a rich musk; the longevity is moderate. It’s a gem, well-blended and featuring quality ingredients for that particular smell. Totally unisex, mysterious, and with a mature dark touch. Highly recommended if you like roses; you won’t find another like it in your collection.
The bottle is top-notch and the spray mists super finely. Upon application, there’s no need to wait for the alcohol to evaporate; the magic is immediate. It opens with a bitter rose, akin to orange peel, settling into a woody base that isn’t oud. Blackberries lend an elegant fruity touch that lasts until the end. It reminds me of Lush’s Rose Jam, but more opulent, and carries something of Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy without copying it. Rihanna has created something at niche level: spiced, sweet, and addictive. One of the best scents I’ve tried.
