Flash Back by Olfactive Studio

This is a very particular fragrance: green, fresh yet substantial. At first, the green note is quite prominent with a sour touch, certainly from the rhubarb. Then the sourness gives way to something more citrusy without losing that herbal base. As it dries down on the skin, it softens and becomes sweet, although the peak sweetness arrives almost at the end, accompanied by woods. Overall, it’s pleasant and enjoyable, far from being a bomb, but it smells very natural and of high quality. It has great evolution. Although the opening is tricky, the dry-down is worth it because it smells uncommon. That convinced me to buy it. I see it as good for daily wear, more for summer or spring, though I should try it in cooler weather. The price… well.

It smells pure and innocent. The orange and grape dominate. It reminds me of a sunny day in the countryside, although it’s dangerous to wear in hot weather because it’s warm like a gentle bonfire. It’s an oxymoron: it transports me as much to that bonfire as to a crystal-clear river. The pink pepper gives it a spicy, mischievous spark, while the amber adds sweetness. It seems more feminine, but it would look great on a man too. I’ve received many compliments with Flash Back. The trail and longevity are good, but be careful: in the heat, it might be a bad idea. Ideal for rainy spring or summer days. Scent: 9/10, Trail: 9/10, Longevity: 9/10.

A powerful and intense grapefruit opening, with a shy orange (the opposite of what gelo999 said) and a note I can’t identify, perhaps rhubarb, which I know nothing about. What I notice most is the grapefruit: citrusy like the orange, but bitter, delicious and refreshing. Very comforting like citrus. It’s not just any citrus; it has elegance and catches attention the moment you spray it. The grapefruit gives way to a green apple that gains intensity as it dries down, with continuity of that unknown note which now predominates. The finish is sweet, ambered, musky and green from the vetiver. That mysterious note lingers. What a pity, on my skin it lasts barely an hour. It’s ‘niche’ in scent, but not in longevity. The longevity is very brief for the price. Sometimes we should demand more, not just scent, but longevity to accompany us all day. But this is my experience, only on my skin.
