The composition is unfussy and old-school, centred on lavender, garden herbs and a cedar-and-musk foundation.
Up top are ginger, bergamot and lavender. The bergamot lends an initial sparkle, the ginger a piquant edge, whilst lavender firmly signals the fougère style.
At its centre, basil, clary sage and nutmeg create a dry, green and distinctly herbal passage, quite free of sweetness.
The drydown brings cedarwood, musk and amber together. Cedarwood supplies structure, musk a clean, faintly powdery softness, and amber a restrained warmth.
