Island by Michael Kors is an aquatic floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2005, this composition was created by Christophe Laudamiel and Loc Dong. The top notes include birch, apple, jasmine and sandalwood; the heart features honeysuckle, tulip, lily of the valley, ginger and Bulgarian rose; while the base notes complete the structure with the same opening ingredients, birch, apple, jasmine and sandalwood. This perfume was awarded the FiFi Award Bath & Body Line Of The Year 2006.

My mother received this as a gift but it didn’t suit her, whereas it has been perfect for me this summer. It’s distinguished, feminine and elegant without losing its seasonal freshness. The packaging and bottle, with that Caribbean water glass, already hint at the scent. Ideal for a mature, confident and free-spirited woman. I can picture a beach girl in a bikini and a linen blazer, who doesn’t lose her formal essence. No wonder it has won an award; it communicates the concept perfectly.
