Very poor projection and the fragrance disappears after a while.
Horrible fragrance; no wonder there are no reviews. It smells like old lady hair lacquer. I bought it by mistake and now I use it as a bathroom air freshener.
A horrible fragrance; no wonder there are no reviews. It smells like old lady hairspray. I bought it by mistake and am using it as a bathroom air freshener.
It shocked me from the very first moment. I went with excitement to get the Intense, but this has nothing to do with it. It smells of pine from the start until it dries into cedar, which is barely noticeable due to the lack of projection. On my skin, it lasts six hours and nothing more. I won’t be buying it.
A fragrance that shocked me from the start. I went with high hopes as I own the Intense, but this has nothing to do with it. It smells of pine from the start until it dries down into cedar, but it’s barely noticeable as it lacks projection. On my skin it lasts six hours and nothing more. I won’t be buying it.
Fabulous refined version of the classic Homme EDT. I detect some menthol and eucalyptus notes in the dry down, though they aren’t listed. On my skin it’s a beast for longevity, projects well and leaves a trail. The first day I received compliments at work. Nothing like the new EDT Intense which is heading in a different direction, very similar to the new EDP. This is quite different from its new siblings, similar to the classic but more refined to my nose. I recommend it highly.
It’s a refined version of the classic Homme EDT. In the heart notes, I sense mint and eucalyptus, though they aren’t declared. On my skin, it’s a beast: it lasts a long time, projects well, and leaves a trail. The first day, I was complimented at work. Nothing to do with the new EDT Intense or the EDP; this is different, similar to the original but more polished. I recommend it.
I bought this new version at an irresistible price, even though it’s half the size of the old Kenzo Pour Homme (one of my favourites). So I made a comparison. It smells identical. The problem is that the projection and longevity have dropped by about 20% in this new version. I’m sure they’re doing this to push you towards buying the Intense. I’m happy with the price, but if I’d paid full price I’d be frustrated. Look for the Kenzo with the old bottle before it runs out.
Oh my goodness. I’ve never had to shower within a few hours due to such an unbearable smell. The colleague who said it smells like old-fashioned hairspray is right, but it’s hairspray in a bad state. HORRIBLE.
I’ve been testing this Kenzo Homme EDT for days. It’s identical to the 1991 version. Aromatically, it’s the same. Contrary to other comments, it lasts longer than the original for me (though I have a batch from ’21 which might be off). Since it smells the same, I’ll give it almost the same review: What does it smell like? I don’t know. It’s an incredible chemical blend. At first, at times, it smells like Pronto cleaner from Spain. After five minutes, again, it seems like a salon product (like hairspray). Some say that and they’re right (but I love it; it smells very clean). After twenty minutes, it evokes a fresh breeze among trees. I sense a touch of lemon at the start (a colleague said it’s a lemonised Cool Water and I agree). Then comes the floral note (rose or jasmine) and finally the wet woods. It smells like the calm before the storm. For me, it doesn’t evoke the sea, but a damp, tree-lined path with flowers in the early morning hours. I’d define it as a ZEN perfume; it transports you to a tranquil state. It doesn’t turn heads, but it’s highly addictive. Scent: I love it. Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 7/10 Of the whole Kenzo Homme collection, my ranking would be: 1. Kenzo Homme EDT, 2. Kenzo Homme Eau de Parfum, 3. Kenzo Homme EDT Intense. PERFUME ZEN.
I’ve been testing this Kenzo Homme EDT for days, and it’s identical to the 1991 Pour Homme: aromatically the same. Contrary to other comments, on my skin it lasts longer than the original (though I have a 2021 batch that is very poor). Since it is the same fragrance, here is my take: What does it smell like? I don’t know; it’s an incredible chemical blend. At first, at times, it smells like Pronto cleaner from Spain; after 5 minutes, like hair lacquer or salon product (and it is true, but I love it; it smells very clean). After 20 minutes, it evokes a fresh breeze among trees. I detect lemon at the start (agreeing with those who called it a lemoned Cool Water), then a floral touch (rose or jasmine), and finally wet woods. It smells like calm before the storm. On my skin, it doesn’t smell of the sea, but of a damp, tree-lined path with flowers in the early morning hours. I define it as a ZEN perfume: it transports you to a tranquil state. It doesn’t disgust me, although it does smell like hairspray.
The original Kenzo Pour Homme was my reference fragrance and I already have its review. This one, which I bought on offer and a bit by mistake (I confused it with the Intense), is very similar at the start, but not identical: it has something that differentiates it. Lacking better words, the original seems ‘authentic’ to me, while this… feels like a replica lacking a point of truth. I don’t know what it is, but the scent, being very similar, seems artificial to me. Neither longevity nor trail are the same as the original from the 90s, although it lasts MUCH on clothes. It may please or not, but the reviews talking about hair lacquer seem to lack vocabulary expansion. I think it’s a valid option for everyday wear, fits many settings, and doesn’t ‘frighten’ anyone. At a good price, it’s a reasonable option, but it wouldn’t be the perfume I would seek directly.
Kenzo Pour Home was my go-to fragrance for years; I’ve already reviewed it. I picked this up on a bargain by mistake, confusing it with the Intense. At first, it smells the same, but it’s not quite the same thing. The original is authentic; this feels like a copy lacking soul. The scent is similar yet artificial. Neither the longevity nor the sillage match the nineties version, although it lasts incredibly long on clothes. It may suit some or not, but the criticism that it smells like hairspray… I think you’re lacking vocabulary. It’s fine for everyday wear, doesn’t put anyone off. At a good price, it’s reasonable, but it’s not something I’d actively seek out.
It brings back memories of my university days, early 2000s. It’s super youthful, with a quirky touch that you just fall in love with. One of my favourites for that youthful, energetic vibe.
Good day, fragrance enthusiasts. This is the 2022 re-version of the Kenzo EDT Original from 1991. It’s not a new fragrance; it’s practically the same with minor differences. I say this because I own both. The only thing they changed was the packaging and the bottle to fit the rest of the current line.
It has nothing to do against its sisters in scent, longevity, projection, and trail! What was Quentin thinking when creating it? I’m not worried about performance, but the smell: undefined and poorly assembled, like a chopping board with parsley and spices, nothing harmonious for my daily use. Trying to look like the EDP doesn’t mean being it. Only for good connoisseurs.
Good morning, fragrance enthusiasts. Here I bring you the 2022 reissue of the original 1991 Kenzo EDT. It’s not a new perfume per se; it’s basically the same with minimal nuances, something I know from owning both versions. The main update was the packaging and bottle to fit the rest of the collection. Greetings!
It has nothing to do with its siblings in terms of aroma, longevity, projection, or trail! I don’t understand what Quentin was thinking when creating it. I’m not worried about performance, but the aroma: it’s undefined and poorly assembled, like a vegetable chopping board with parsley and spices. It didn’t seem harmonious or useful for daily life. Trying to resemble the Eau de Parfum doesn’t make it so. Just for true connoisseurs.
Good afternoon. Born in 1993, I love the fashion of the 80s and 90s, so I sought out fragrances from that era. I came across Kenzo pour Homme; although it’s a 2022 reformulation, it seems faithful to the original 1991 version. It smells marine and talc-like, slightly sweet without being cloying. Unfortunately, it doesn’t project or last as I expected: after 2 or 3 hours, there’s almost nothing left. Perhaps in autumn or winter, with the cold, I’ll appreciate its longevity more.
Although I don’t love it at first, after the first 30 minutes it becomes pleasant. I’m not a fan of mixing Calone and Calipsone with nutmeg, but then the patchouli and pine turn sweet and agreeable. On the dry down, the balance between sandalwood and cedar is perfect. It’s a fragrance that divides opinions: you either love it or hate it.
Smells clean, like hand cream, baby wipes, powder, and old soap (or a fly swatter, depending on how you look at it). It has pleasantly surprised me. It’s super versatile and simply smells clean. I discovered it thanks to Carles Sabater from Sau; I saw a documentary where he wore it, and knowing that this 2022 version is very similar to the 1991 one, I wanted to smell what it was like for him.
A perfectly decent fragrance that delivers. It smells marine and herbal on the dry down. It has moderate projection and trail, ideal for the heat. The strong point is the bamboo presentation, which is very original.
I bought it blindly on 29/04/2025. The first thing I noticed was something curious: it smells very much like cream, talcum powder, or soap, a personal hygiene scent that isn’t bad, but which may not please if you don’t seek that profile or if it’s not the right moment. The bottle is original and modern, inspired by cut bamboo, with a cap that holds up well to the weight. It’s super versatile and suitable for any age. Olfactorily, it comes out very fresh and herbal thanks to Calone and Calipsone, giving it an ozonic and metallic touch. Quickly it blends with the pine and patchouli, classic notes of vintage perfumes like Polo Green that give familiarity. As it dries, sandalwood and cedar become more noticeable, adding a robust and masculine character. Its weak point is longevity: between four and five hours on the skin, with moderate projection that lasts about two hours outdoors, more personal than expansive. I recommend it for summer, although it works well in autumn and spring. It’s not here to make waves; Kenzo simply modernised a classic with a slight scent change. It’s rich, clean, and masculine. I don’t know if I would buy it again, but I’m not regretting it; I will enjoy it and perhaps repeat.
Bought blind with a curious first impression: smells like lotion, baby powder, or old soap. It’s not bad, but if you’re looking for something different, it might not be your cup of tea. The bottle is original, featuring a modern bamboo design and a secure cap. The aroma is fresh, herbal, and slightly metallic due to the Calone and Calipsone notes. It then blends with pine and patchouli, giving a familiar vintage vibe. As it dries down, the sandalwood and cedar add masculine character and robustness. Its longevity is debatable: between 4 and 5 hours on skin with moderate sillage, more personal than expansive. Ideal for summer, autumn, or spring. It’s not designed to stand out, but it’s rich, clean, and classic. I’m not regretting the purchase, though I’m not sure if I’d buy it again.
They say it smells like a fly swatter, and if it has that chemical aftertaste like Baygon, I see no future for it. I’ve tried it several times, and that smell won’t leave my mind. While other Kenzo collaborations with Avon are wonders, this one didn’t convince me at all.
If you judge solely by the reviews, you’ll miss this gem. It’s 100% masculine, perfect for hot days, with a vintage touch I adore. It reminds me of the 90s version my dad used; it evokes joy and a fresh, elegant talc scent. Very enjoyable.
Clean and masculine, yet disappointing: smells like wet wipes and fails to meet expectations.
