In a department store, a sales assistant sprayed this fragrance on me. The opening is fresh, citrusy, and aquatic, nothing new; it smells like water, fresh, and masculine, with a hint of herbal notes. It’s a very artificial scent, more of a department store or gift fragrance. It’s not bad, a safe and pleasant bet for ambient wear, giving off a freshly showered masculinity vibe… but up close or after wearing it for a while, it feels quite artificial, like Invictus by P.R. The base, at least for me, can be dense or irritating if you’re sweating; it’s the most artificial part (plastic-like). Very generic and artificial. One of the few from this brand I’ve tried that never appealed to me, just like Carolina and Gucci. I think L’Eau Kenzo Intense is trying to compete with Invictus in terms of aquatic/fresh/masculine style and the herbal heart (basil versus laurel in Invictus).
I consider it smells better than Invictus!
This fragrance is muuuuch richer than Invictus; it beats it hands down. Invictus starts off rich but then fades away, whereas this one doesn’t.
An easy-to-wear and universally liked fragrance that has received thousands of compliments. It’s compared to Invictus; similar style, but they only resemble each other when it’s very close to the skin. I like Invictus but would never buy it again as it’s too mass-produced, so I choose and stick with this a thousand times over. Another better alternative in terms of performance is Kenzo Homme EDP.

The bottle copies Abercrombie First Instinct Blue with Kenzo, but olfactorily it has nothing to do with P.R. Invictus. This Kenzo is more floral and aquatic, which I prefer as it lacks that synthetic sweetness of Invictus. It was made so that no one finds it unpleasant, they didn’t risk anything bold to set a trend. If asked if I’d buy it again, yes, but only at tester price; I wouldn’t pay more. Undoubtedly pleasant and girls adore it.
Picked this up in 2020 (50ml) seeking something fresh and easy-going, and it delivers: it’s fresh yet has depth thanks to the cedar and vetiver. Smells like a classic men’s fragrance, blue and versatile, perfect for daytime wear, though it does get slightly sweeter. I suspect it has extra ambroxan; the bottle is that lovely transparent blue, but the cap doesn’t close properly. In short: nice, safe and versatile, yet basic; I wouldn’t buy it again for my own taste, although it works for all seasons. Rating: 7/10.
