A modern fragrance for its time, a curious blend of warm spices, lavender, and patchouli that, with bergamot, creates a spicy freshness before settling into a base of chocolate, leather, and coffee. It’s a surprising amalgamation of opposing notes. It subtly reminds me of Axe Chocolate at the end. Pros: versatile (though not for every climate) and that chocolate note is rare on the streets. Cons: hard to find and longevity/projection are scarce. Overall score: 5.7/10.

In my opinion, it’s the best cheap gourmand you can buy. Very similar to Rochas Man, with hyper-decent longevity and a truly excellent scent. A very solid blind buy.

Michael Jordan Legend is, without a doubt, one of the best perfumes in terms of value for money. It smells of coffee with caramel, a touch of leather and anise, with an amber base. It evokes a caramel macchiato on a winter afternoon with good music and conversation: simple but pleasant, everyday yet memorable. It’s surprisingly long-lasting, though it doesn’t project much. It shouldn’t be taken out of the cold; it has a friendly vibe, suitable from informal to formal situations, giving a lot of warmth. With the right attitude, it’s also excellent for dates. I see it as totally unisex and, at the price it’s found, it’s worth trying. It recalls Rochas Man and snippets of Bond 9’s New York Nights (in the coffee and caramel part), although the quality difference with the latter is abyssal. I never tried New Harlem, but if it’s a niche version, I imagine it would be a wonder. Score: 8/10.

MICHAEL JORDAN LEGEND: What a lovely surprise. Although it has nothing to do with skin colour, it represents the dark-skinned man very well; of course, a white man can wear it too, but it makes me think of someone of colour in an elegant formal coat. It’s sweet without being cloying, elegant, warm, docile, and even sexy. The three notes I enjoy most are coffee, amber, and leather. It’s superb for very cold climates, where it shows its best qualities. It offers much more than it costs: it’s different and current since 1997. I liked it very much. Scent: 9.0, Longevity: 8.0, Projection: strong for the first 2 hours, then drops but remains perceptible. Recommended 100%.

It falls very much in line with another great unknown, Animal Animal, but initially it feels weaker in longevity, potency and note richness. That’s why I recommend the original Animal Animal over these two flankers. The coffee notes everyone talked about aren’t noticeable in this reformulation; it has lost the strength, trail and longevity of old times. At 23 euros for the new editions, it’s still available. In short, they’ve messed it up and made it worse. I tested it in December with 18 degrees during the day and 12–14 at night. If there are changes, I’ll review them later, but I need to keep comparing it hand-to-hand with Animal Animal. Both are EDTs and on paper handkerchiefs, Animal Animal still feels sharper and livelier than the Legend after 10 hours. In other words, both fade quickly to the level of clothes or paper, but then become eternal. Price of the Legend: 23.90 euros for 100ml on Notino this very week. Be aware that elsewhere they’re asking astronomical figures, and I say it’s not worth it because it’s not as good or collectible as claimed in forums and channels.

Quality, just the right potency, and a very affordable price—a trio of virtues nowadays. It’s sweet, sensual, and the performance deserves praise, being a simple and fairly linear fragrance. If you’re intrigued by notes of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, discovering this perfume will be a true pleasure. In my opinion, it’s slightly less sweet than Rochas Man, but with somewhat better longevity, at least in my case.

Wow, for this price I’m absolutely blown away. It smells super rich and sweet, though the only thing it lacks is more evolution; it stays exactly the same all the time. Still, it’s worth it. Blind buy? Yes, if you’re dying for something sweet.

It smells of coffee and lavender, which transforms into maple syrup or pancake syrup. It’s cheap to buy online, lasts about seven hours, and the trail is around two. Ideal for eating out, in the cold, and at night. I’d give it a 7/10.

I absolutely loved it; it smells super youthful and sweet without being heavy. It has just the right balance: even if you wear a lot, it doesn’t overwhelm, but leaves a cosy, highly rewarding trail. I’d dare say it’s the most modern and youthful version of Calvin Klein’s Obsession, plus it’s very affordable. I recommend it 100%.

I bought this blindly based on Fragrantica reviews and was pleasantly surprised. It’s cheap, sweet but not cloying, with moderate longevity and projection. At first, it smells like Dior Homme due to that musky sweetness (it lacked the iris), then it settles into a sweet coffee scent, reminiscent of Oriflame’s I.D. Beats, Mugler’s B*men, and Esprit’s Imagina. Finally, the musk returns mixed with amber and leather, similar to Bvlgari Black. Update: the longevity is better than expected; I wore it at lunch yesterday and it lasted until evening, and today it’s still lingering softly.
