After Lancôme’s Lavandes Trianon and that well-crafted lavender, this fine, non-gourmand vanilla could be a lost cause in the current influx of lavender into perfumes… lavender is all the rage. It keeps very well and captures the ruggedness and rusticity of lavender in all its splendour, feeling youthful yet dense. The projection is excellent.

  • veronicacastrello

To be honest, it’s not for everyone. At first, I detect an intense, woody scent, then it mellows and I smell the vanilla. I like it very much for cold weather.

  • Kathy Martín

I adore it; it’s elegant and long-lasting, drawing attention when you wear it. It has exquisite vanilla, even though I’m not usually a fan, and with the lavender blend, it feels fresher and more elegant. It lasts on me ALL DAY; it’s one of my favourite perfumes.

  • FOR ME, IT’S A RATHER UNISEX FRAGRANCE; I DON’T FEEL IT’S 100% FEMININE, AND I LOVE IT. A FINE LAVENDER WITH A VANILLA AND TONKA BEAN BASE IS A PERFECT COMBINATION.

  • I bought this because my EDP had run out; it’s an incredibly rich fragrance. I chose the Intense version as people said it was more beastly. I absolutely love it, but I can’t spot any major differences. In Argentina, they are EXTREMELY expensive, along with any other line items and basically any import. While I loved both this Intense and the EDP so much, if I had to pick one, there isn’t much difference… so here’s my advice to you, Argentina’s Libre fanatics: you don’t need to spend on the EDP if you have the Intense, and vice versa. As long as you can afford one, that’s enough.

This perfume blew my mind. All my life I said I didn’t like vanilla and never intrigued me one where it was the protagonist. I only tried it because of the reviews… I have no regrets. Just be aware that testing on paper in the perfumery won’t convince you at first, as the new notes are very strong and you won’t know which one you’re smelling. But the magic begins when you keep a sample on paper, coat, or skin. It’s so strong and cosy at the same time, making you feel unique and loved. It’s passionate; you feel like having good moments with him wearing it. It’s INTIMATE. Not for everyday use because it’s special; it’s AUTUMN made into perfume. A wanderer, warm, enveloping, cosy. A sultana in a desert, a sunset, or a night under the stars… for personal enjoyment and for those who have the privilege of smelling it, a blazing naturalness that incites. Let it permeate your essence. Now I understand why it’s called Libre: simplicity and depth at the same time. A balance of both sexes, with predominance in feminine energy. One of the best tried, if not the only modern one that took my imagination off the ground. You notice the difference when a note is well worked and in harmony. I adore it. Scent 9.5/10. Well achieved.

  • Let’s see… how do I define it: it’s attractive, intense (without being invasive), with excellent fixation and duration, approx. 10 hours (not usual). Lavender always stands out, although I like it, I’m not sure how much. It’s a perfume with a lot of personality, somewhat linear; its trail at personal distance is perfect and not invasive; the bottle is a design jewel. In summer it’s strong, but it depends on personality and tastes. I received female compliments but it doesn’t seem very attractive to men like PURE XS or DIOR ADDICT. Update: September 2024, I bought it again, confirming: it doesn’t result in being sensual for men; the duration and trail dropped noticeably (I always buy at specialised perfumeries like Rouge or Juleriaque). In my case, money wasted and quite a lot of money for Argentina.

I have mixed feelings. I had high expectations and now it sells a lot in Argentina as winter approaches; it’s exclusive for cold days. The first time it smelled like cheap soap and I was disappointed. I gave it another chance: on me it’s pure lavender, with nothing else, perhaps that lavender gives that clean, talcum-like scent I felt, maybe I’m wrong, I’m not an expert. For some reason, although I’m not a lavender lover, it became attractive to me gradually. I think I’m drawn to the elegance it carries; it’s not the typical cloying sweet gourmand I usually enjoy. Perhaps that’s why I have mixed feelings, but now I don’t dislike it. It’s very elegant and clean. If it helps, Zara’s Golden Decade is a good dupe; I tried both and they are similar. Edit: being amber-based, it reminds me conceptually of Mugler’s Alien.

  • IsabelFer

I expected more. It doesn’t smell like a fine fragrance; it feels heavy. I wore it on my arm and it irritated me… it doesn’t appear on others but to me it smells like honey…

  • In my opinion, the original surpasses it, but I admit I prefer Zara’s Golden Decide and the value for money is much better there. Don’t buy it blindly if you have that more pleasant clone. On my skin, it has a hint of ammonia that I don’t like in the opening. The first dry-down is the nicest part, but it’s very linear. I thought it was the big difference with the Zara one, but it isn’t.

  • Libre Intense is an empowering fragrance, enveloping you in a cloud of sophistication and character; it smells like limitless luxury, neither sober nor restrained, pure power. In my opinion, lavender, vanilla, and amber are the stars, edging towards masculine while maintaining a determined, feline femininity. It elevates attractiveness and screams self-confidence; it’s a total experience. The bottle is luxurious and aesthetic, with beastly performance lasting 10 to 12 hours, projecting with strength that never fades, even on clothes for days. It’s an imposing beast with ultra-sophisticated vanilla. Ideal for lovers of the old money style.

  • I love it; it’s intense yet youthful. You can tell the citrus and vanilla. It has good fixation and longevity, and over time, that sweetness remains without being annoying. Ideal for those who aren’t scared of intensity; my skin is tricky and this stayed true to its notes. It doesn’t smell like a lady, perfect for over 30s.

  • I tried it in a shop looking for vanilla and was disappointed. It lasts a long time and has good sillage, but the initial scent is awful, then it smells old. It reminds me of Euphoria and Tresor, with that same heaviness that gives me a headache.

  • Tatianastoattoa

Well-made, perfect balance between elegant and not cloying. Although I hate lavender on my skin (like in Mon Guerlain, which gives me a headache), it doesn’t stand out here because the base isn’t gourmand. I’ll enjoy the bottle, even though I’m not crazy about restocking it.

  • Definitely my favourite. It has that syrupy or honey-like texture where you float in a cloud. It’s an adult vanilla with lavender and florals; nothing stands out too much. It’s a sexy but discreet woman in a jumper. Ideal for dinners or dates; in the office, you have to be careful not to overwhelm the person next to you. Not for girls or older ladies, best suited for ages 25 to 45.

  • Versatile, it has all the facets: starts fresh and clean, ends sweet and deep. It lasts hours on me, very long-lasting with good sillage.

  • For Argentinians, it smells like Tío Nacho shampoo, very lady-like. I only tested it on blotter paper.

  • Luciano Rigatuso

My girlfriend gifted me this, her signature scent. It opens with lavender and bergamot, super fresh, but then turns sweet with vanilla and white flowers without being cloying. It’s a perfect balance: not a classic fougère, more of a safe bet that everyone likes, but the note quality is top-notch. Lasts about 8 hours and smells good anywhere. It reminds me of my girlfriend: mature, cultured, and elegant. Projection: 8/10, Dry-down: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 9/10, Versatility: 10/10, Bottle: 6/10, Value for money: 8/10.

  • FlorFanatica

They let me try it on a strip in a perfumery, and I am not lying when I say it lasted on that strip for MONTHS! That is why I decided to buy it. The intense opening, once it dries, you feel the lavender. People have complimented it a lot! It was my first imported perfume and it has a special place in my heart.

  • I love this perfume!!!, it is beautiful!! I love the Libre, but this Intense version and the EDT are my favourites. It is an elegant, sexy, luxurious, winter, and evening fragrance. Its quality is excellent, it lasts for many hours, and leaves a wonderful trail. It is perfect for special occasions or couple dates. For the moment, it is on my wish list; I will buy it one day.

  • You can smell it in the pub, you will kill it with this, although it is not my preference for going out dancing, but rather for drinks or couple dinners. Clearly unisex, I feel it would look brilliant with a tailored suit.

  • Wlad Molina

Velvet lavender. For a long time, I made the mistake of judging a fragrance by its top notes… and worse, on a dry strip. I learned that this initial impact is merely a door; what comes after is what truly matters. With Libre Intense, I decided to wait. I did not rush. It was during the dry-down where the magic happened: the lavender stops feeling so herbal and begins to feel creamy, enveloping, and sophisticated. Everything around it—the jasmine, the vanilla, the soft spices—does not compete but accompanies it with elegance. This perfume made me understand lavender in a different way: not as a fresh barber-shop note, but as a warm, elegant heart. The jasmine, usually associated with femininity, is presented here as balanced and unlabelled. It does not shout, nor does it bloom excessively. Here, it is part of a blend that feels perfectly unisex, elegant, and characterful. I cannot say it is identical to the original Libre. It feels deeper, more serious, more intimate, yet without losing that DNA. They are certainly sisters, but this one has a more sensual and less explosive air. My recommendation: do not judge it in the first minute. Give it its space and its time, and you will see what it hides. My rating: 9/10

  • Vanessascarletterr

What a wonderful perfume!! It is sweet, intense, elegant, sexy… I find everything I love in a perfume exquisite, and it lasts a long time. I adore it and would buy it for the rest of my life.

  • Salofdezz

Definitely the flanker that smells the best. It is sweet, elegant, and addictive. A blend of lavender and citrus with white flowers, wrapped in a spiced and sophisticated vanilla that changes the perfume and gives it its own personality. A 10/10.

  • BereZappa

I did a two-spray test on my neck and that was enough; I should clarify that I am not usually a fan of this type of perfume but I wanted to try it. It starts with lavender, then tangerine, and settles on vanilla, which lasts until the next day. As mentioned in the cons, it gives some people headaches; it gave me one within half an hour. The next day it was still smelling, and it even gave me nausea, but as I mentioned, I do not tolerate perfumes with vanilla. Personally, I do not like it; it feels very intoxicating to me. I stick with citrus, aldehydes, and musks, but for someone who loves vanilla and lavender together, I think they would adore it.

  • It comes out citrusy but not like the Libre EDP. This one is undoubtedly more nocturnal and indeed intense. I like it; it feels particular, less citrusy and slightly sweeter. Obviously, they share lavender and orange blossom; they are two similar perfumes, but the Libre EDP is much fresher and cleaner, whereas this one has more body and overpowers it if you wear them together. It is intense but not cloying; no note is overwhelming. It is balanced between acidity, sweetness, and floral. It is excellent; I agree that the chords are the same as the Libre EDP but it is not the same perfume. I like it very much; I feel it is flirtatious, elegant, and a bit animalic.

  • I tried both the Intense and the regular version, and the Intense surpasses it by far. It smells rich, clean, and with an elegant sweet touch. It’s already on my wish list. It lasts forever; the little paper they gave me soaked the whole room. The regular one smelled strong and just ‘clean’, but with its sweet touch, I loved this one.

  • #Niche-soul perfumes: YSL Libre Intense. #Libre Intense is a deep and bold reinterpretation of the iconic Libre. The opening bursts with lavender and mandarin, fresh and elegant, though at first it might recall women’s fragrances from the mid-2000s, even challenging if not worn correctly. In its evolution, it reveals its true character: a heart of neroli, jasmine, and orchid that adds sophistication, refinement, and an almost private air, as if from an exclusive collection. Gradually, it reveals itself as sweet, modern, and surprisingly unisex. The base, dominated by vanilla and tonka bean, adds warmth, sensuality, and impeccable longevity (10+ hours). It’s not meant to go unnoticed: it has presence and body, but with balance, without falling into heaviness or clumsiness. Libre Intense is ideal for those seeking an aroma with personality, a trail that commands respect, and elegance. Perfect for special nights, events, or for feeling secure and powerful. The bottle, with its golden lines and YSL logo contrast, reflects that tension between the classic and the contemporary. In short, a hidden jewel in the mainstream, designed for bold spirits without gender or fragility complexes. It empowers women and men and confirms that YSL continues to honour its history. Thanks to #Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm for this work: when two masters of #perfumery meet, the result can only be memorable.

  • What a beast of a perfume! I sold it and now I miss it, haha, but I hate that orange note; the tangerine was suffocating me as it dried down, it even made my neck itch or I imagined it did. If they did the same thing but with another fruit, like a strawberry… who knows, it’s my dream. It’s something precious, high quality, like the ones they no longer make these days. I’m sitting here waiting for them to invent a Libre Intense Cherry or whatever, haha, lots of kisses.

  • Oh, perfume of queens and moonlit nights, your citrus breath awakens the senses, lavender rises solemnly, vanilla burns like a secret lover, and woods seal your destiny. You are a spell for cool climates, a treasure worthy of gods, and although the longevity in my bottle gives more voice to the lavender (which I don’t love), you remain the charm that dresses a sexy boss vibe for whoever carries you.

  • LaMelitaParfumLover201219

It was a blind buy and love at first sniff (I tested it in Liverpool, but I think it was another flanker), but I absolutely adore this one. This jewel smells of luxury: it opens with citrus and full-on lavender, then settles with the sweetness of jasmine and the cleanliness of orange blossom. I don’t detect the orchid. The dry down is divine, with that delicious vanilla, the earthiness of tonka bean giving it body, and ambergris to seal the deal. It’s sweet, overwhelming, and sensual, with a longevity of 10-12 hours on me and an intense trail. I would buy it 1000 times over.

  • oliendobonito

It’s clearly a floral fragrance that maintains the DNA of the original Libre, but with a marked twist thanks to the orange blossom, which adds a citrusy and clean touch. Jasmine is also noticeable, reinforcing that white flower character. The combination remains feminine, creamy, and enveloping. It’s a distinctive, present, and slightly sexy aroma, but without becoming heavy. It works especially well in autumn and winter because it’s one of those scents that ‘hug’: sweet, floral, and creamy, with the citrus brightness of the orange blossom keeping it balanced. If you like the original Libre but want a more floral, warmer version with a clear prominence of white flowers (jasmine and orange blossom), you’ll probably love this perfume. Lasts around 10 hours on clothes without any problem.

  • cursedhazakura

It happens to me the same as with Burberry Goddess… on my skin, the lavender stands out hugely, a scent I don’t like; it reminds me of a closed car. On the test strip, it seemed spectacular to me, but on me… it leaves much to be desired. One thing is certain, it’s a perfume that women have complimented on me. It smells of lavender, citrus, warm, even slightly spicy.

  • oliendobonito

It’s pure floral, faithful to the Libre DNA but with a strong twist from the orange blossom that gives it a citrusy freshness. You can detect jasmine, reinforcing that white flower vibe. It remains feminine, creamy, and enveloping. It’s a distinctive, present, and slightly sexy aroma without being heavy. Ideal for autumn and winter because it ‘hugs’: sweet, floral, and creamy, with that citrus brightness that balances it. If you like the original Libre but are looking for something more floral, warm, and packed with white flowers, you’ll love this. Lasts more than 10 hours on clothes without issues.

  • ToxicPedruco

Although YSL Libre Intense aims to be a bold and sophisticated floral-amber fragrance, the execution is disappointing. In theory, lavender and vanilla promised a balance between delicacy and sensuality; in practice, it’s monotonous and predictable. From the first spray, the opening is disproportionately sweet, bordering on cloying, lacking the freshness found in other high-end scents. The lavender loses its definition and is eclipsed by gourmand notes that, far from adding complexity, create a flat sensation. The evolution offers no surprises: instead of developing, it stagnates into a generic blend that smells more like commercial products than something refined. The projection, which should be intense, is inconsistent and sometimes disappears quickly in enclosed spaces. The trail fails to provide presence without being invasive. Those seeking something distinctive and elegant will feel it’s an uninspired interpretation of saturated trends. In summary, while YSL’s prestige is attractive, Libre Intense fails to deliver the expected sophistication and balance. Its excessive sweetness and homogeneous character make it less memorable than other options.

  • I can imagine a lawyer running through the courts with this perfume, a business woman style. Unfortunately for me, it’s a no. The opening captivates me; it smells very vanilla with a spicy touch, but then it drops to too much lavender, and upon drying, it becomes talcum and honeyed, at least on my skin, like honey with dust.

  • It has a strong presence without being overpowering; rich, though those with sensitive noses should perhaps avoid it. It lasts incredibly long on skin and clothes—I don’t need to reapply throughout the day. I feel secure wearing it; it’s ideal for going out at night or attending something elegant and important. It conveys elegance, strength, and power. That’s how I feel when I wear it. I tried several Libre scents when buying this one, but none compared to this. As the name suggests, it’s only for those who truly wish to stick to their ideals, avoiding the conventional with a unique spirit.
